How reliable this information is will have to be seen in the future, but I heard several weeks ago just after Birmingham sacked him, that Palace were thinking about replacing Pardew with Gary Rowett even then.

Rowett not in the betting on Paddy Power. Fat Sam odds on currently with Coleman second at 13/5. Next best is the incompetent Woy at 14/1 then a load at 25s and 33s. 2 horse race if you believe the bookies, one of whom is currently employed and a national hero.

If so huge throw of the dice, although well respected no PL experience. Good change for the beginning of the season but half way through a relegation scrap ? Would also go against previous appointments by the owners. My moneys on Allardyce.
