Just wondering what will happen with Flamini now.

At last he is getting much needed game time and to be honest, had an excellent game yesterday. I was at Watford and he certainly puts himself about, reads the game very well and I think installed a lot of confidence in the team. His experience playing at a high level was evident.

As he gets more playing time, he will only get stronger and sharper. Kind of plays that Jedi role, but does not commit so many fouls and plays simple, but effective football.

I hope the stories in the papers are not true and he remains with us until the end of the season.

He did very well yesterday in that defensive role which enabled Cabaye to play more as a 'No 10' and the fact he played more offensively led to him scoring the goal.

I imagine Flamini was only substituted as he got tired.

Flamini was excellent but expectedly tired later in the game due to lack of match fitness. Brought the best out of Cabaye too. Hope he stays

He was good against Chelsea also. I think Puncheon should perhaps be dropped, at least for the tough games. It would be good to see a midfield with Flamini, McArthur and Cabaye.

Maybe tough matches we can deploy a midfield like that, which is far more robust and defensive. Then in games where we can attack we may use the Cabaye, JimMac, Puncheon combination..

It will be interesting to see if Flamini starts getting into the side.

Dont let Cabaye go

Flamini has filled-in at right-back and left-back although that was a while ago.

He was a player who was renowned for covering a lot of ground in a game but he is now 32 and one cannot expect him to do what he did when he was much younger.

Begs the question as to why Pards never had faith in him?

First game and Sam gets him firing, basically like having a new signing... in a positIon we we're weak in.

Looks like this Sam fella can actually manage.

We can't know if Flamini has been left out because of fitness/injuries or if it was just that Pardew didn't rate him but I think it's clear to see that he's better than Ledley. I certainly would have liked to have seen more of him especially as we've leaked so many goals that have come from the DM (be it Cabaye or Ledley) making mistakes.

At the start of the season Pardew said it was"like having a second coach". Well he neede all the additional coaches he could get of course and parking on or two of them wouldn't have been a bad idea.

I suspect back-seat coaching will be about as popular with Allardyce as Clattenburg at a Palace testimonial.
