Personally, I think he was passed it when he came to us, was struggling to get first team football and has not looked like a secure PL Keeper, prefer Jules even though he is older, what we need is first rate Keeper, if Joe Hart wants to come back he would be my choice but would he want to come to us in the mess we are in ?

He never looked any good, either.

Disagree. He looked a bit fragile in the last couple of games, but when he started he dominated the penalty area in a far more convincing way than Hennesey or Macarthy. He lost confidence, but is widely considered in France as their best fkeeper behind Loris.

Probably found it a bit too much like hard work.
He only had 4 games in France where he might have to do some something, PSG and Monaco.

Sounds like french confirmation bias to me. I am reminded of time spent in the O.M. supporters' bar in Castellane, where they are still in shock over the fee that a certain rosbif club paid for such an ordinary player.

If this allows us to get an extra outfield player in, so be it.

Mandanda is clearly a world class keeper, but he's been the last man standing behind a defence about as stout and credible as Peter Sutcliffe's.

Anyone who thinks he's a poor goalkeeper is talking complete sh*t.

Not suited to the physicality of the Premier League, he doesn't dominate his area at all, he doesn't come for hardly any crosses.
Far more at home in France, so sell him

Very difficult for a keeper playing behind an accident prone back for and the rest of the team charging around like the Light Brigade on acid. Perhaps a more stable defensive approach will help him settle; and the rest of us too!

Very funny, and very true!!!

I just want a keeper that makes important point winning saves. I didn't see it from Steve, short spell I know and Hennessey just doesn't have it. Whatever "it" is?
Not blaming Wayne for the winner, but for a year now our keepers haven't come up with point clinching saves. I know Jules isn't the best keeper there's ever been, but he has this knack of pulling off the (almost) impossible, exactly when it's needed. Really think he should be starting right now. If he's good enough for the bench, he's good enough to play and it would also lift the crowd.

And when he does his back in, picking the ball out from the net for the third time, what then?

He's not even remotely match-fit.

He's a keeper. Match rusty maybe, but then why's he on the bench if he isn't able to play at a moments notice?

Yes there's been the odd keeper error, but on the whole the keepers have done OK. They've currently got to produce the equivalent of 4 match winning saves just to draw...or lose in the last minute

The sooner we invest in the defence, the sooner our keepers will come good.
