I'd say the claim that we're now having to build on such land as a result is overstating the effect of migration somewhat, but then we have a significant portion of the population who deny that net migration of several million in the last 25 years, with a birth rate higher than that of UK born women ( [Link] ) has nothing to do with London being a bit crowded.

The location of said housing development kinda tells us that the buyers will not be short of a bob or two and that the prices will be paid by those who could live more or less wherever they fancied, so probably absolutely nothing to do with 'overcrowding' because of overseas visitors.

It will probably end up like the 'Development Site' shown below.... all that land completely concreted over whereas now it's grass and woodland.... where will all the rainwater go? If it doesn't flood there it will run into the Thames causing a major flood up/down stream. Utter madness... still I don't expect Union officials to understand the implications of building on floodplain or concreting over large areas of woodland... not in their Job Spec is it Guv?
