That thread is for speculation and will be locked and closed for posting by the Mods when they get their act together. So pipe down sugar.

Nearly every post you make has a negative edge.

Nobody said he was a bargin, but we needed a left sided player, who can play at LB, so SA has gone and got one with Premier experience. When you are at the bottom and teams know what you need, nobody is going to be cheap.

Give the guy a chance, before knocking him, don't believe anything Leicester fans say. They are more than likely as negative as you, about everything.

I'm not knocking him really as no doubt he will be better than some of our players. I am knocking the price. £5-6mill sounds about right from what they have been saying.

Leicester fan here again, my post earlier was schlupp in a nutshell. In reference to the cost, not many footballers are bargains these days, most clubs pay over the odds so I wouldn't worry about that. The kid is 24 too so plenty of time to improve more. 6 seasons for us so not bad for his age and its only this season he's not featured much

Doesn't really matter what Leicester City fans think of Schlupp. From what I've seen he's perfect for us,and in today's football world of crazy transfer fees Palace have got a bargain.

One thing he will give us is something seriously lacking and that is pace and energy. Townsend is the only player with pace in the entire squad with Wilf away. The fact that we're after Jenkinson too means Sam has quickly realised that our full backs are rubbish something Pardew never spotted at a

The tragedy for CPFC is how a wonderful net-contributor to the club (Yannick Bolasie) has gone for a reported £30m and we have done the money on inferior replacements.

The combined estimated transfer fees for Schlupp and Townsend is around £25.

So we have only £5m left over, but have to factor in two lots of wages, and have two players, who combined are not as good as half a Yannick.

Maybe the club had no option, but to let YB go, which is a tragic position for us, but to try and replace someone like that is almost impossible.

For all the clever-clogs who will now say I'm a mug 'cos YB has a horror injury we don't know if that would've happened with us. Different games, circs etc...........

we got £25m for Yannick (rest on add ons which aren't guaranteed and he's now out for a year) of which 20% went to Bristol City, so £20m really.

Makes Schlupp look very expensive but then Bournemouth paid £15m for Ibe so it just shows how inflated prices are.

Townsend is also on £70k a week, probably double what Yannick was on

I am sure I wasn't the only one when this rumour first started who asked "why would we want to but this guy" when we had clear needs for an experienced left back, centre half etc.
But, as some has said, we are in January are we need back up. I just hope SA knows what he's doing. I will give him, and the player, the benefit of the doubt as should we all.

Don't know much about Schlupp but if he brings this then great. Badly lacking throughout the team with one notable exception.

Aside from Delaney, Dann & Benteke we've been short on aerial presence at times as well although MacArthur punches above his height.

That's so true £15m for Ibe was totally nuts! Makes £12m look about right...but that's only if we are talking about a LW player. £12m for someone's sub LB seems steep but he's got the pace we are lacking at the back and brings balance and he also gives me the impression that he's a character that settles well in the squad which these days is rare. His personality seems perfect for Palace.

Hi there

Leicester fan here just wanted to wish Schlupp the best really, hope he's as good for you as I think he potentially could be. People talk about him having no brain, etc but that is the usual forum folk having a pop at professional footballers whilst sat in their sad little pants at home. Sure you have the same folk in here as we do over in the Foxes forum.

He may not be the most technically gifted player in the world but he was a proper cult figure at Leicester no matter what some of our more miserable fans say. When people say he has some pace and power I would actually argue he is the strongest player I have seen play for us and one of the fastest too, he is, to use a footballing term, an absolute beast.

He is still relatively young and reckon he could be a fans favourite. He goes from looking like the best player in the world to falling over his own aces but that's why most of us loved wee Jeff. Give him the ball, let him run directly at (through) players, ignore his sometimes woeful crossing and enjoy the force of nature that is the Schluppinator. I'll miss the wee fella.

Good luck Jeff.

X
