Ledley and Hennessey Other players are underachieving but we know they can step up, on the other hand Joe Ledley does a nothing job in defensive midfield and Hennessey is an absolute liability. Flamini is far superior in Ledley's position and Speroni showed against Bolton that he still has more shot-stopping ability than Hennessey. Speroni would have definitely claimed one of those loose balls for West Ham's 1st and 3rd goals and would have stood a better chance for Carrolls judging by Hennessey's laughable attempt at a save. When the options are there why these players are still being selected boggles the mind.

Hennessey Lee, Campbell and Fryers may not be the most talented players in the squad but at least they put in a shift. Zaha generally works his arse off. Benteke today might have been arrested for loitering he did so little.

So what if he puts in effort, if he's not good enough he shouldn't be playing. Liability. Loses the ball every time he gets it. Falls over. Kicks the ball out of play when barely under pressure because he has no idea what to do with it. The list goes on. He would do okay at a League 1 club. Period.

This is my assessment of our squad at the moment: Category A - Quality and doing well in the shirt: Zaha (Away for AFCON) Category B - Quality to good players but not performing: Puncheon Category C - Need more game time, shown promise when used: Flamini Category D - Not good enough and getting too much game time ahead of superior players: Ledley

Schlupp Edited by Mad4palace (14 Jan 2017 10.18pm) Spot on, to be fair. Though, you need one more category; 'Not good enough and should be sold immediately'. This category would include Lee, Mutch, potentially Fryers.

I think Mutch was so poor we forgot he existed. Certainly against notloB we might as well have had ten men. Fryers - can't make my mind up. Has shown promise and attitude but plays in a position where we have little available. Unlike the others not Pardewed so probably useful as a squad player for that reason. Kelly's now so ruined he looks like he needs a complete change.
