i dont think its fair to dig him out for playing international football...we should be proud and im looking forward to watching the game 4pm tomorrow. it is sad tho that i can see him wanting out now big sams here as manager...his celebration against swansea spoke 1000 words about what he thinks of the situation.

He was let down by England and once he got a chance to play in a huge international tournament which his team has a good chance of winning it's a no brainier. Footballers don't have long careers, I don't blame him for wanting some silverware. I'm not English but I grew up here and lived over here most of my life, I know how it's easy to be proud of two nations and I imagine Wilf is a proud Ivorian as much as an Englishman and I don't blame him.

I fully agree, it was obvious he was going to make it into the England set up somewhere down the line if Townsend can, instead who courted the Ivory coast and then he'd backed himself into a corner as when they called him up he couldn't refuse. He shouldn't even have entertained the idea, we pay his wages and his loyalty first and foremost should be to his club. I feel pretty let down by him and the club could have done with out this BS at the moment FFS! Rant over.

Zaha chose Ivory Coast as soon as Southgate was confirmed. When he was playing for the U21 he was meant to report for duty on the Friday, he was playing for Palace that night and was 2hrs late. Which I would have thought was justifiable considering he had just played. Southgate didn't just drop him from the team but the squad to demonstrate his authority. Zaha knew he wasn't going to get a fair crack of the whip with Southgate. If you want to blame anyone blame Southgate.

I don't blame him for choosing to play for his country. The people who run the England team are clueless buffoons. An invitation from them is a poison chalice. Even if they did pick Wilf, they'd play him out of position, then he'd get blamed by all the usual t***s who think the England team should be chosen on merchandising sales performance. for example.... So I say good luck to Wilf. He's playing for his country and will make his family proud. I think he's magnificent If we go down, the club falls apart, the ground is sold, morale in Croydon plummets and Selhust becomes a barren wasteland, then so be it

Haven't the African countries initiated a clause where if a player refuses to play in afcon they or their club get fined? I read somewhere 7 Cameroonian refused to travel
They say hard work never hurt anyone ... but why take a chance? |

Sadly he will be off when we get relegated, I don't blame him.

At least this means he will not be going in this transfer window, if he has a good tournament, he hopefully will be back raring to go and full of confidence. Plus he is away from all the doom and gloom.
