I can see what you are getting at but I think there is enough evidence over the years to suggest that the right signings in January can certainly lead to avoiding relegation.

I wouldn't look at us right now and say throwing money at it will just fix it automatically. What I would say is that we have a squad without balance (no left side at all). Addressing that can only help, it will not hinder us.

We need a left back so get a left back. We need a left winger because Townsend isn't performing so go get a left winger.

We are not talking about signing 6-7 players. Just 3 perhaps which will not disrupt the squad.

Another thing I will add is this. When you play football everything starts off merry. Win some games and the team bond and trust each other...but keep losing and that goes the other way. The trust ends, the performance drops, the togetherness is a thing of the past. Training and coaching won't bring that back...only results do.

Sometimes you bring in a new player or two and mentally it resets the squad and gives everyone a fresh start.

Honestly I don't think we will sign anyone else. All the gossip and rumours is just clubs and agents trying to get the best price for their overated players. We are not man United or man city we are palace and doing the best with what we got. Same as ever always have.I would gladly do it with the players we have. It's very frustrating for the players we have when every player and his dog is being linked to palace. Just my opinion.
