Had a long term injury and released by juve in the summer. Was on trial at a Turkish club didn't get a deal due to fitness. Can play lb ,cb and in a back 3. If he passes a fitness test , it's surely a no brainer to sign him.

Thoughts

Is a free agent so presumably doesn't have to be done by the deadline. So I guess we can take the required time to appraise him properly, if he is keen. Don't know if he's (still) any good, hasn't played at a serious level for a while but not old enough to be a has-been.

Yes no brainer, especially in view of the hamstring injury to Schlupp, IF he is anywhere near fitness

Looks a no brainer from the sky article.

Well, the rest of the squad don't appear to be so he should slot in nicely.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Not having ANYTHING to do with Schlupp's position. Caceres would be a terrible left back if that's what you meant. He'd be kind of like Kelly or Ward there, which is useless. First of all, he's right footed. Second of all, his technique is lacking.

A really good center back though. Kind of short at 1,83 (just like Mbemba), so better suited for big teams which defend up and are prone to counter attacks. But coming in free, he'd be a great signing.

However, he's very close to Fiorentina, might have signed already.

I'm sure he played at lb for Uruguay. Just a question how many times have you seen him play live ?

How can he be coming to show Sam what he can do if he is on the verge of signing for Fiorentina? Sounds like more agent driven drivel.

SA: Caceres is one who may appear after the window as he's not attached to a club. Yes, I have an interest.

...and Neil Shipperley has!

Free transfer won't be restricted to the window so if we don't get who we want when the window closes, we could be interested.

I think I mentioned in another thread, that while very talented Caceres has had not just one but multiple injuries in the last few years and there is no way of knowing if he's any good at all.

By then though everyone short a defender will be after him so if he's as good as that Sky article says he is let's get moving!
