I know optimism is an alien concept on these boards but things are looking up.

Traditionally we only ever have half a good season, and the end of last and the beginning of this one may been painful but we should look onward and upward.

A win against Sunderland could lift us to 15th. 2 wins on the trot would provide momentum for the Boro match, and then we would be up for a tussle with West Brom.

With Wilf back, our new signings, and a string of winnable matches ahead, things are looking a lot less scary. There is no way that we are one of the worst 3 teams in this league.

Lets hope bad luck and injuries are behind us. We have a history of roaring up the table after a dismal start, lets continue the tradition.

With the best Chairman and fans in the country, it’s all there for us to achieve. Even if our manager is a miserable tubby northerner, he’s our miserable tubby northerner.

Top 10 ten isn’t beyond reach. The greatest team in South London is far from done with this season.

Keep the faith brethren, be loud and proud.

COYP.

Agreed. No way is our team so bad as to be worthy of a bottom three position. Not now anyway. What was so encouraging about the Bournemouth match was no so much the defensive discipline and clean sheet, Zaha playing better and more consistently than his earlier years, the addition of quality key signings in the window, Scott Dann looking himself again, Townsend's quality and assist on the RIGHT side of the pitch, Hennessey's fantastic efforts and saves, or even the strongest bench and now squad in CPFC history, for me it was the team's change of confidence. They looked like a single unit team again (as opposed to a smart-ass coach's chessboard where it was all about him and his stupid subs). Haven't smiled like this for a long time. COYP!

As long as we focus on our results we should be ok, it looks like Swansea may hit some form. So it's between us Leicester, Swansea and Borough for 18th place. Next few games will really pan out our season.

Yep I did think when I saw that team sheet on Tuesday night that midfield looked strong the best we've had I would say ! But let see these next 3 games are winnerable so let hope no injuries befall us,
I'm really interested in seeing a fully fit remy starting in on one of those games as we know this guy add class up front!

it always worries me reading such postive posts after one victory, as somebody who has been watching palace since noah was a little lad,i know there is going to be lots of twists and turns yet and as for this game against sunderland i do not think they are just going to roll over

Early days yet and we are still deep in "must win" territory. Keep the faith and hope for a win on Saturday. However, it's important to get at least a draw against Sunderland. The right kind of consistency is very welcome and will edge us up the table.

Optimism is good, but it needs to be tempered with a healthy dose of realism. Last season 39 points were required for 17th and 50 for 10th. It's going to be demanding enough to pick up 20 from 15 games, 31 is a massive (and unlikely) ask.

Don't know why everyone thinks SA is a northerner. He's from the Black Country, near to Dudley, making him a miserable midlander, though he seemed pretty happy the other night.

Squad depth could work for us though now. If anything happens to Gylfi Swansea are f***ed.
