Let's wallow for a day before we rediscover our resilience and get behind our team again.

Yesterday set me thinking about the worst five moments being a Palace fan since the mid 60's. These came to mind.

1. Losing at Arsenal and being relegated, with Ian Wright being chief cheerleader. W*nker.

2. The Valley, having to listen to the Clowns singing "We sent the Palace down"

3. Being demolished 9-0 at Anfield. We can laugh now, following the revenge at Villa Park, but it was devastating at the time!

4. 0-5 at home to Wimbledon in 1985 under Sir Steve. It was even worse than today.

5. The 1990 FA Cup final reply, when we forgot to turn up.

I think we will bounce back from today. Due to the new signings, mainly. And the enforced realisation that Hennessey, Puncheon, Ledley, Kelly and others are nowhere near the required PL standard now.

Let's go again. COYP!

Jackson.. Wan Bissaka.... Sansom.. Nicholas.. Cannon.. Guehi.... Zaha... Thomas.. Byrne... Holton.. Rogers.. that should do it..

Add to that list - The train ride home after getting relegated at Cardiff. No idea when it was, seventies I think. I've been trying to forget it to this day. Thanks

the bus back from Anfield in late 80's after we lost 9-0 was probably the worst, for us that were there

Yesterday has to be up there.

It wasn't even the result. Our identity since administration was the bond between the fans and the players and the pride in the shirt. That looks to be completely, irreparably, broken, at least for a few of those players.

26th January 2010 - Enter Administration
2nd May 2010 - D-Day 1 - Survival at Hillsborough
1st June 2010 - D-Day 2 - Survival at Lloyds
7th June 2010 - CPFC2010 exchange contracts.

It was before the 60s but we lost 2-4 at home in the FA Cup to amateur side Bishop Auckland. We also lost 1-3 to another amateur side Finchley again in the Cup.

And between those 2 we also lost to Great Yarmouth. Three non-league FA Cup defeats in a row.

Only 5? There could be 1005!

All the above - I was at Anfield that night for the 9-0 mullering but there are 2 instances that stick out for me.
The first was as a nipper in 76 when Southampton beat us in the semi final. That broke my heart as a kid.

The 2nd instance I'll never forget.
You always hear people say that they remember where they were when Kennedy was shot or when Neil Alden Armstrong (one of my heroes) first stepped onto the moon.
Well I remember where I was when Mullery was named our manager.

Great thread, btw

The 2-2 draw to Southampton in 2005 still hurts.

Claridge, enough said.

Bristol City away league cup 4 down after 20 mins

any game at home to Shrewsbury, Grimsby or Cambridge in the early/mid eighties, usually lost and shocking games in front of 4000 or 5000

a night match in 1973,forget who were playing, might have been Sheffield Utd losing again and then in front of me Palace fans fighting each other. I was 13 broke my heart. My own family had been a bit of a nightmare. Palace and my fellow supporters had to some extent become my family. And now I live to far away and am single parent on minimum wage so attending is out the question. But hearing and seeing what I saw yesterday was just as heart breaking. On the plus side we have been down on our knees many times and the pain is as real as ever but I have never lost hope or love and respect I have for family of Palace FC
