Who is the worst goalkeeper in the Premier league?

It should be pointed out that it is much easier to blame the keeper than the other ten outfield players. For others WH clearly is a focus whereas the back 5 and midfield went missing for 5 minutes at Sunderland. Will replacing Hennessey solve that? Will it make the defence more confident possibly yes. Is he struggling confidence wise possibly. It could be kind to him but that is not the basis to run a team. We do not see Speroni in training and it is unfortunate Mandanda is injured because although I am unsure about how good he is although he appeared very confident. How many others do we need to replace on the basis that they are struggling. We could have Loris (highly ranked) in goal at Sunderland and Defoe would still have the time and space to pick his spot for both goals. The second goal also gave the player an enormous amount of space and time to pick his spot. Keepers make mistakes but what is difficult for us to accept is that the team completely lost focus for a short but critical part of the game and that has nor happened very often. I can remember us being three nil down at West Brom after twenty minutes but pulling it back to three two. That is the only time I can remember the same lack of focus and we provided a spirited comeback against a solid team.

Totally agree about the goalkeeping display not being the worst we have seen. This year Fraser Forster had both a comedy moment and a very unconvincing display for Southampton. Admittedly their team had an off day and we were of course brilliant!! Perspective and balance is required.

His the worst palace goalkeeper ever that's what I meant Perry suckling was poor and so was Paul Barron but at least he kept a few clean sheets

Also been going since 1979 and the great Nigel Martyn would struggle to keep opposition out with the freedom we give players in our penalty box. Everything from free headers, comedy marking at Swansea away and latterly Defoe had the freedom of the Palace.

Barron was Player of the Year whilst here. And Perry did very well until his confidence was destroyed by the 9-0 at Liverpool.
Jackson.. Wan Bissaka.... Sansom.. Nicholas.. Cannon.. Guehi.... Zaha... Thomas.. Byrne... Holton.. Rogers.. that should do it.. |

It would be different if some of these were getting deflected/blocked from challenges, but right now whatever problems WH has are being worsened by the lack of protection he's getting. The 2nd and 3rd goals were far too easy for them to pick their spot and the 4th we let Defoe spin and get a shot off on the edge of the 6 yard box!
Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time. |

Poor example. Miller actually let those goals in. Brauny - do you recall his display for Barnsley when they played at Selhurst? Possibly the best goalkeeping display I have ever seen. 2 reasons to hate that man.

He was a keeper who was uncomfortable with crosses and didn't dominate his area but he was a good shot stopper and could kick well with both feet.
