Before this season, the last two runners up in the FA cup final were relegated the following season. Maybe we are just destined to be the third.

Maybe it's in the stars, but more realistically it's about a whole year of complacency and negligence. Now, let's be real Pardew didn't want this to happen, but it was always going to happen when the manager is the players mate and he doesn't bring in any disciplinarian to balance things out. Parish didn't want it to happen, but he let his heart rule his head, for possibly the first time at Palace and gave his mate too much time to turn it around. Without discipline you lose organisation, focus and discipline over a period of time and then as the results continued to go wrong confidence and belief disappeared. Some of these players have only won 3 or 4 league games in 13+ months. No wonder they are mentally shot, continually playing under such intense pressure. Maybe Parish should of pulled the trigger earlier, but IMO Sam has more than enough time to turn things around, sadly I believe complacency came in again. I get the feeling that Sam, like the fans thought he just had to turn up to turn things around. Sadly confidence was so low it's turned out harder than he thought. Now if he came in unprepared for such low levels of confidence and can say he didn't know things were so bad after 6 wins in one year then I have to doubt his competence. He's said and done some strange things, things that would of got Pardew lynched. Now we are really in trouble, but ridiculously still in control of our own destiny, I mean win all 7 home games and we're safe. Upstairs things were far too complacent too. We knew we needed a left back for 4 months, one should of been signed on the opening day of the window. Now I know it's harder than we think to get players over the line, but how many were lost because of the relegation clause we had to put in because of our continued plummet as the window went on? Oh yeah and Sam, don't take off Zaha, even when he's having a bad/quiet game he can turn them in our favour. If you doubt this watch the second leg vs Brighton in the playoffs. Zero to hero, if you know what I mean?

There's little there that I would take issue with.

Time to inject passion into Palace so fans get ready to shout them on.
13 games left possible 39 points.
Target victory in every game.

Good post mate, echos what many a fan feels. I refuse to give up until it mathematically impossible, it's still all to play for, god only knows how we are not cut adrift??
Just hope the players who know there is no chance of them entertaining the idea let alone playing in the championship, have the minerals to put in a shift before the seasons out?

We we're playing better than and weren't losing every week like we are now we've never beaten man city away or man United away all the time in the premiership and by the time we play them 3 we will most probably be relegated anyway so it won't matter

The 'This is the happiest group I've ever worked with' from Pardew had me concerned. If they were happy picking up 1.5 points per match I'd say fair enough. They were at the top of their game and felt invincible as everything was clicking right. But no, they were winning on average 1 league game in every 6. They shouldn't be the happiest bunch. They should've been the most determined to address that and achieve their potential.
I'm so angry we're possibly going to relegate ourselves when the slide was there from Jan-May with a pause, then started again with a 3 game pause vs the worst teams at the time in the league and a draw at Everton and then back to truly appalling management of the situation.
