If we are lucky enough to stay up, which I think we will, I think Sam will be quite tough on re-building the squad. Which players should we sell?

delaney, speroni (both retired), sakho (the left midfielder obv.) too slow, Johnny Williams, mutch, campbell, ledley. I'd keep ward as back up for whoever we upgrade him with. Squad strength is key. but those above, for me, do not give adequate back up strength...champ standard. or too old. sadly.

Wilf and Townsend will leave because they want to and we will try to offload Benteke because he is not physical enough to be a Sam type player. He bought Carroll for West Ham and the difference in aggression and work rate is marked. Cabaye will leave too. He likes his midfielders to be mobile strong runners hence his signings of Kouyate and Diame for Spam too. It is also clear that he doesn't rate Ward because of his efforts to get Jenkinson in

One thing for sure is there will be a markedly different squad to the one now. I'd be happy with a culling of a few high earner, plus the out of contractors will all be off

IF we go down, one of the few positives would be that there would be a chance to give some of the young starlets a proper run out - Kaikai, Boateng et al

Now normally that sounds very young to me but, in footballing terms, by that age, players would hope to be playing first team football and not still waiting for their chance.
