If we want meat to feed the masses then we want factory farming. I would point out that the demand for food will increase enormously over the next couple of centuries even with the reduction in world birth rates.

Factory farming doesn't have to be quite so intensive as it is in many countries and perhaps there needs to be a process of education that we don't have to eat meat every day as a right

I would think some 'neutral' websites are just as likely to be influenced by big business and print stories that are either untrue or steer people away from the truth. Factory farming isn't inevitable. The growth in vegetarianism/veganism in the past ten years(a 360 % increase in the number of vegans in Britain in the past 10 years [Link] ) shows this and it will only continue to grow as health benefits and the treatment and cruelty to animals by those in the industry gains greater exposure.

Most people don't want to be vegans. They want meat. I don't want veggie Nazis telling me I shouldn't eat meat. We have evolved to be omnivorous.
