They were going down under him so it's generally bad for us although if we can't win games what anyone else does is immaterial. Hear on talksport that the players told the board they weren't happy with Ranieri, just shows how strong player power really is. Mancini for the job.

I think it was a brave decision to part company with a manager who had won the PL trophy the previous season. That said, there were 'Rumblings' about player unrest at the club a few weeks ago and as they say "There is no smoke without fire".I cannot confirm if there was any foundation to the stories in the press. All we DO know is that Leicester made an announcement shortly after saying that Ranieri had their "Unwavering support" and they only know the rationale behind their decision to go public with this. The fact remains that whilst Leicester are PL Champions they are struggling this season and the 'Board' taking everything into consideration probably felt that matters were not going to improve under Ranieri, they were in grave danger of being relegated under him and decided a change was necessary. Last season has gone, the 'Board' have to consider the current predicament and there is no sentiment in football. Edited by Willo (28 Feb 2017 4.10pm)

Every single Leicester fan would have taken relegation with Ranieri this season if they were told 18 months ago that that would be the cost for them if they were to win The Prem and have a major chance to get to the q/finals of The Champions League. What genuine football fan of one of the less big clubs wouldn't? Completely agree.

there was a thread on sports psychology the other day, which divided opinion somewhat. Here's a different take on Leicester's demise and Ranieri: I've worked with this guy and spending just a day with him, listening in on what he had today, I went home feeling supremely confident and free, and I wasn't even one of his subjects, merely an observer..

Hodgson bookies favourite to be appointed new Leicester manager. The man's a buffoon and if I were a Leicester fan I'd be praying they just kept the interim manager until the end of the season who already knows the players and seems keen to go back to last season's formula and team (based on Liverpool game). If they do go for Hodgson it could easily be a disaster unless he just does what Ranieri did last season and not try and change a winning formula. Hopefully if he becomes their manager he'll have Huth taking corners and free kicks or something absurd like that.

He has won the League in Sweden and Denmark and the cup in Sweden.He has managed in Italy.He has reached the final of the UEFA cup and the Europa League and he has managed 4 international sides."Buffoon" he is certainly NOT.

Edited by Willo (01 Mar 2017 11.39am) Anyone who watched England's performances in the last 3 international tournaments would agree that he's a moron. Easily the worst manager of an international football side I've ever seen. Added to that his squad selection, team selection, substitutions, tactic and general decision making were bizarre to say the least. He also seemed to lack any motivational or man management skills. I'd not want him in charge in a relegation battle.
