Before Saturday I'd of definitely said yes but Tomkins had a great performance.

Him and Sakho looked so assured on the ball and I don't recall seeing too many pointless diagonals from the back.

Only trouble is Dann is much more likely to score and Tomkins will miss sitters but I think our Captain is going to have to fight to get his place back.

Still, nice to have options again!

I think we will go back to 3 centre backs against WBA so Dann will play.

Dann is still a massive player for us although his performances have dipped a bit following injuries. He will benefit from having Luka in front of him and it should restore him to full confidence. I think that he would benefit from giving up the captaincy and Luka already looks a sound bet to take over. Yes, Tomkins
did look assured against Boro and it would be interesting to see a fully fit Dann and Tomkins as the CB pairing. How nice it is to have Sako and Damo in the mix and the options that we have available to us.

If he's fully fit then start him, personally I think Tomkins is our worst defender. Middlesbrough didn't test us a great deal and I think Sakho did the work of 2 men back there, Tomkins was as hesitant and scared of shots as he usually is.

I agree. Tomkins has never looked quite up to standard. maybe that will come.

however, Dann alongside Sakho with Luka playing in front of them seems like a pretty solid Triangle to build a side around.

I seriously doubt we'll ever play 3 at the back again this season.

In the long run, I prefer Dann to Tomkins, but I wouldn't change a defence that kept a clean sheet, and we've rushed Dann back from injury too many times before.

You obviously dislike Tomkins.
He was fine Saturday.

He was certainly better than Ward ànd plys right back s well so I'd say Tomkins Dann Sakho van Aanholt.

No to Dann. He's not the same player as a year ago. Don't know if it's being captain of the side. Definitely needs a bit of time out.

Hard to settle in a side when you're playing with a different partner/full back each week.

Think Tomkins was decent on Saturday and he needs to have a bit longer before he's written off.

Given Dann's injury issues I would have no problem with the same team starting the next game.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

Like a lot of the squad Dann is suffering a lack of confidence at the moment, and it would be madness to tamper with the defence that played against Middlesbrough.
