I'm very slowly coming around to this point of view, whilst I still think we need a new keeper both the lads have been doing far far better since Roy has been rotating them. If money's tight at the moment then concentrate on getting the best striker we possibly can. If we can score more the occasional ballsups by Wayne and Jules can be mitigated.

Anyway WH had an excellent game and wouldn't surprise me if he's back in for a bit and it's deserved, until his next f*** up and now that both keepers know this is how it works hopefully their games will keep improving. And hopefully too by the end of Jan Benteke will be in the same situation.

I agree that the rotation is actually working and shows Just how tactically astute our Roy actually is. Not that it should have been too hard for the previous incumbents to have worked out though. But still, better late than never.

I appreciate that I am in a minority (perhaps of one!) - I am actually happy with our keepers. I think the rotation of Speroni and Hennessey has improved both of them - and I like Henry as our back-up.

I am not convinced that a new keeper (that we could attract) in January would result in any benefit. In recent games both keepers have performed well - in conjunction with improved defensive structure. I think there is a risk that bringing in a new keeper would unsettle the team..

I think that's probably right if we're not spending lots of money, although a top-quality keeper would be an improvement and should be experienced enough and authoritative enough not to have trouble fitting in. If Dann's going to be out for ages that area becomes higher priority because we don't want to end up in the mess we were in last season with injuries to Dann, Sakho and Tomkins; if Tomkins goes out now, we are in bother.

It's amazing how many obvious changes he's made, that others just seemed to blank on isn't it? I liked his comment after the match concerning swapping Andros and Wilf on the wings (I'm quoting from memory) "a decision even my wife would have made". Sums up his style, a lot of common sense rational decisions involved.

I find this persistent obsessive negative posting about Wayne ridiculous. He played well yesterday and will keep his place for the next game and justifiably so. Jules has not been great and it doesn't matter what anyone clams, but he is getting too old and not quick enough.
We have far more important issues such as a second striker and a replacement for RLC when he goes back to Chelsea.

Ego driven stubbornness was the cause for a certain white haired ex manager to ignore the obvious in a few situations. I think that the goalkeeping situation was one of the main reasons he lost his job.

This is very well written. I am sure 99% of us agree with you.

Stop using this rhetoric as a stick to beat Hennesey’s detractors with. It’s a passive aggressive approach and very stale. This is an ongoing debate as things change game by game, play by play. All I’ve done on the past couple of pages is to pick the wallies up who ask me to eat humble pie. I’ve not suggested for a second that Wayne didn't Have a good game against Man City. Stop trying to stick the boot in at every given opportunity just because I’m an easy target on here. Get online and have a go a the numerous pundits and ex Palace stars like Wright and Budgie who have declared Henessey not good enough for Palace instead. Visit the other social media outlets that aren’t heavily sensored like the HOL and have a go at the numerous Palace fans who don’t rate Wayne. Just bore off pretending it’s only me who doesn’t rate him and that I’m in A 1%, because that is frankly pathetic and blatantly not true.

... and there you go making it a competition again ... shame on you.
I’ve always been on the Speroni side, but i’m happy to admit it seems Wayne is currently playing in the form of his life right now, and I’m pleased because he’s Palace. But why pick on Speroni!!
Julian has also contributed in this current run of 1 defeat in ten and kept us in the game on a couple of occasions. Stop the character assassination, not quick enough is just rubbish, his reflexes looked fine to me against Mahrez.

The Henessey lot believe it’s one set of rules for one and a different set of rules for themselves. And take great pleasure
in goading people with different opinions than themselves on their hero. Pathetic most of them really.

It's possibly the bold bit that riles other posters. They have a different opinion, you insult them.

Rubbish. They just don’t like what I say about Hennesey. And the way I say it. They’ll have to learn not to get riled by my opinion. I can’t be held responsible for riling people I don’t even know on an Internet forum designed to give ones opinion. It is wholly their problem, not mine. And if they wish to goad me and tell me to eat humble pie, then they are going to get riled all over again. Again, their fault, not mine.
