I was at the SCG nine or ten years ago and saw first hand the infamous incident when Andrew Symonds nicked one from an Indian bowler and refused to walk.

It was amazing that all tens of thousands of people in the ground heard the nick except the umpire who gave him not out and that was the start of the Symonds / Harbajan Singh running bad feeling.

Like the frog earlier I thought that all Aussies were uncultured thickos until I went over there and met some and found that they weren't at all like I imagined.

We went to Sydney for the New Years Eve fireworks and returning home by bus after midnight the bus was full of young Aussie drunks all making a lot of noise. One of them swore and immediately turned round and apologized to us. Imagine that happening in England

I went to Australia back in the 60's while serving in the RM's and we found the locals to be quite abusive and hated us more than anything else and picked fights and trouble whenever we went out and the reason was: We had not gone into Vietnam with them when they went in with the yanks. Britain had told them to say away from the war as it was not ours or their fight. They lost quite a few blokes and after a few months they pulled out again. We were called all sorts of weird and crude names and we were glad when we got back on board and sailed away back to Singapore.
The Australians now have forgotten all that cr@p now and open their arms to us more than they did and it proves it by the amount of Brits that emigrate there. I would like to re visit just to see how places have changed from the time I spent there.

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

I've been living in OZ for some years now. I came over just after the 10 pound trips. An Ozzie in a pub offered me 20 quid to take myself and a pommie mate back. Ozzies are Ok, a bit ignorant (144 Ozzies = Gross Ignorance), but I don't mind them at all - it's those white c***s I hate.

Got a few Aussie mates and they are absolutely top blokes. The rivalry between us is generally good natured and shouldn't detract from the fact that we are culturally very similar; both countries being full of beer-swilling sport enthusiasts.

Have always been put off going out there due to embarrassingly being incredibly arachnophobic but my brother has just moved to Perth so will have to man up at some point.
