I know it's the county of Palace but I despise the place almost a much as Maidstone. The rough bits are as ghastly as Romford or Dagenham ever were (Mitcham, Tolworth, Morden, Addington) and the posh bits are like a graveyard (Esher, Guildford) - the A232 is a channel of spiritual death, the county has all the boredom of the countryside and the squalor of the city, some green belt finery in the westerly bits but Saffron Walden and Colchester are nicer. For the hideous A13 to Basildon you have the equally vile A3 - come friendly bombs and fall on Surrey, just give the Palace fans a bit of warning.

Only comment is that none of these places actually in Surrey - All in London boroughs and just keep Surrey on their addresses as sounds posh!
