Shame about the injuries to Tompkins and Dann... lets hope both can recover quickly?

Other than that (which we had no control over anyway)... Sam's plan worked beautifully.

I know Zaha got the MoM and he played as well as I have ever seen him play, but I would mention in dispatches...

Sakho - he was immense, like a rock, no one was getting by him yesterday.

Hennessey - fantastic keeping (best game ever for Palace)

Benteke - grafted, bullied, linked up with Wilf and looked buzzed up.

Milivojevic - Luka (easier to say)... another faultless defensive midfield masterclass protecting our back 4 and safe passing.

In fact everyone stepped up their game and for once we got the benefit of refereeing decisions - Pawson defo missed Townsend's handball.

I've been watching the lads since 1963.

I've seen all major ups and downs in that time... yesterday's result is right up there.

Hopefully any young lad at the Bridge yesterday supporting Palace is hooked for life now.
