And you don't think West Ham have looked awful for large chunks of this season? Most people I've spoken to do. People have ignored how poor they are because they've only just arrived in the relegation threatened places. If they lose another couple which is highly likely people will suddenly say they are in free fall. They have been for months!

They have looked awful but just not as awful as we looked when losing 0-3 to them.

Hull City fan here.
Since Marco Silva came we have been totally different to before. The players don't have a day off and he makes sure each player knows their role. He put Eldin Jakupovic in goal over David Marshall. Marshall was letting in two or three goals a match and was pretty relaxed about it but Jakupovic is such a shot stopper and incredibly passionate. Up front Silva has started playing with Hernandez and Niasse rather than the one up front all season. Niasse has no ball control to speak of but he has a natural strikers attitude. 4-0 at Everton looks bad but we were 1-0 down and putting them under pressure when Huddlestone was sent off (with 3 match ban) for a yellow card offence with about 10 worse challenges that week end without even a yellow. We haven't missed him at all.
Looking at the up coming fixtures I would guess at 6 points from Watford and Sunderland which would mean 36 and could be enough. We need to accept that anything is possible in this league. Look at your Sunderland at home and Chelsea away. I see you lot seem to go from extreme doom to extreme confidence depending on the result. Palace v Hull could be an important match or it might not matter at all.
I'm not going to wish you luck while we are both at risk but there are other teams I'd rather go down.

Burnley surely are still in it as well as West Ham. Don't think Burnley's fixtures are that easy. Agree on that the Hull game might be at least very important, possibly deciding.

With the latest results (Burnley's 3 points, Southampton's win and and Bournemouth's draw at Liverpool) it is very likely that 1 of those 3 will go down (hopefully not Palace.)

Realistically, we can expect from the schedule:

Swansea:
At home:
vs Everton 1 point
vs Stoke AND WBA 4 points (Swansea is pretty good at home)

Away:
at United 0
at West Ham 0-1
at Sunderland 1-3 points
at Watford 1 point

Total: 35-38 points

Hull:
At home:
vs Sunderland 3 points
vs Tottenham 0 points
vs Watford 3 points

Away:
at Palace let's just leave this one out for now
at City 0 points
at Southampton 0-1 points
at Stoke 1 point

Total: 37-38 points (without the Palace match)

Crystal Palace:
At home:
vs Arsenal 0 points
vs Tottenham 0 points
vs Leicester 1-3 points
vs Burnley 3 points
vs Hull let's leave this one out

Away:
vs Liverpool, City, United 0 points

Total: 35-37 points (without the Hull match)

If it comes down to the Palace vs Hull match it's going to be extremely hard because from my calculations 3 points will be needed instead of one. And Palace hasn't had a good season when attacking pressuring for the 3 points (the 0-4 loss against Sunderland comes to mind)

It will be hard. Could we hope that Swansea doesn't win any of its games at home and they total less points? Perhaps

Agreed, people shouldn't be wishing for Swansea to beat the hammers. Best thing we can hope for is a West Ham win. As there's no way West Ham are going down. Even if they give Swansea 3 points.

Totally agree. A West Ham win would be a fantastic result for us.

Very nice and well balanced post. Silva seems like a great managerial appointment. Personally I dont care who goes down as long as its not Palace!

Am I right in thinking Swansea have got West Brom on the last day of the season? Don't think I want to be putting our survival in the hands of Pulis of all people.

Looks like the Hull match really could decide our season. Genuine 6 pointer. But with Sam at the helm I dont think we are going to gift too many more easy victories. We might just scrape home to survival

I think Hull and Swansea feel as uncomfortable as we do.

We can beat Hull or we can get clobbered ......which team is going to turn up.....fighters or losers?

Then don`t be surprised if we get a result where we don`t expect.

Listen, pal, don't come on here unless you've got something offensive/slyly needling to say so that there can be 35 pages of jokes about haddock shagging.

Seriously...I think around these parts most folk want the world cup winners to go down. Failing that, any other team falling apart would be nice.
