That raises a few questions. Would Roma or us be prepared to pay that much? If both clubs are prepared to meet that, which club would Sakho choose? I admit to not having a good feeling about this.

Palace would not pay that much. He is a very, very good player, but £30m is taking the piss. I am sure we can get someone similar for nearer the £10m - £20m. Sam & co. know what they are doing and will do what is best for our club.

Mama has been brilliant for us but there's little chance we'd pay that for him (or that he'd stay in SE25 if a big club in the Champions League came calling). Sam & the team had little time to find & recruit targets in January but I'm pretty sure they will have their eye on several alternatives for the summer. I'd love him to stay but doubt he will be here next season.

He would need to sign a long contract for that sort of fee on big wages that would take the investment to over 40 million .

A player who was upsetting the Manager at Liverpool and would have been a fire sale, £12m to £15M, has been displayed in the Palace shop window and now much more saleable. We have to hope that SP, SA and Mr Klopp recognise that any player can "not be in demand" and settle on around £22m with add-ons (which is still high compared with who could be available at £15m to £18m. There is also the behind the scenes interest of the French National Coach - who can be expected to want two of his outfield players and one of his goalkeepers to develo0p their understanding of each other, and might remind them that game time (and training time) together is available at Palace. Do you really think Klopp discusses his transfer policies with Daily Mail? I seem to recall that it wasn't that long ago that we were quoted as saying that we would only sell Zaha for £50m It was only a few short months ago that we desperately needed a decent left back, defensive midfielder and centre half and Sam & Co found all three for us so I have no doubt that he will get hold of a decent centre half for us again in the summer whether it be Sakho or someone else

He is very, very good and opportunity may be knocking. I say try to get it down to £25mill and get him onboard permanently if he will come.

Our deal for Benteke totalled 32.5 million, didn't it? This theoretically wouldn't be out of our price range, and I think it will be a long time before we can pick up a player of this quality again.
