Just seen on Sky that Aguro is having a scan today on his leg.

Lets hope his out for Saturday.

We'll work hard all game and hold them at arms length for most of it.

Yaya will score his usual screamer and someone will fall over in or around the box often enough for City to score direct from a free kick or penalty. (Leroy Saneh, I'm looking at you - you f****** cheat)

Well I think Simon's head is large; always involved in espionage. (Name that tune)

Where I did I state we would beat hull. I said don't lose to hull. Meaning draw

I think tbh one more point will be enough. Swansea might have an attractive run in but for large parts of the last couple of months they have been terrible. If they concede first to Everton then I would be confident that Everton will get something out of the game, they have a really good counter-attacking game.

One more point would mean Swansea having to win all three games to overtake us and that will be a tall order for them.

No ifs or buts the Swansea v Everton result is where we should all be looking. With Sakho out getting anything from Citeh is going to be unlikely so we have to rely on the nicer scousers to do the business.

Even then we will beat or draw against Hull meaning Swansea have to win their last two.

Our position is good.

If you want to look at a single game, it's us vs. Hull. If we win that, we're safe because Hull can't catch us. That would make Swansea irrelevant to our survival.

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

I posted in another thread how our recent results - going back to the win over Boro after the loss to Stoke - can be broken down into two very distinct and consistent groups: when we played on a full week's rest, all wins and one draw (coming back from 2-0 down to tie Leicester); but after a short rest, all losses.

We lost to Southampton midweek after beating Chelsea. We lost to Spurs midweek after beating Liverpool and we lost to Burnley after playing Liverpool and Spurs in the prior 6 days.

We play Man City, Hull and Man Utd on a full week's rest each game.

What he's saying is that if Swansea lose to Everton on Saturday, it's all over and we're safe. The Hull game will become irrelevant.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Of course. It's just that Kermie seemed to suggest that we would still also need to beat Hull, which is not correct. Any Palace win OR any Swansea loss will see us safe. But Swansea can win all three games and we're still ok if we beat Hull.

For the record, I have little faith that Everton will turn over Swansea. Everton are two points behind Arsenal having played 2 games more, while they're completely safe in 7th. Maybe the possibility of a Europa League space failing to the 6th place team has some interest, but it's the sort of remote technicality that's important to fans but hardly a motivating force for players at the end of a long season.

Exactly, take it one week at a time. What's the point in worrying about the permutations of fixtures beyond this weekend when it might be all done and dusted with an Everton win.

Don't forget at 1-0 down Stoke missed a penalty and a minute later the Swans went 2 up. They haven't morphed into world beaters over night.

I'm not saying it's not within them to get 3 wins on the bounce but let's take it one game at a time.

I'm fairly sure that this idea that most fans have that teams with nothing to play for tend to do less well than they would otherwise have done if they had something to play for is a myth. Like playing against 10 men is harder than playing against 11.

We beat Liverpool 3-1 away with nothing to play for. We beat Swansea and Stoke at home last 2 seasons with nothing to play for. We drew 3-3 with Liverpool when they were going for the title and we had nothing to play for.

While we could go down I don't think Swansea should be considered favourites against Everton. Form and quality suggest Everton should be favourites.

My first post!

If we draw with Hull, it means that we are safe unless Hull beat Spurs. Spurs!
Put that way, there is grounds for optimism!

And as someone else said, we could be safe in four days time if Everton beat Swansea.

Lots of permutations ...

And don't forget West Ham, I would say there is more chance of them remaining pointless than us ...

For what it's worth, I predict Hull will be relegated, and probably on goal difference. I feel for Hull fans, they may have to beat Spurs on the last day to survive, Talk about pressure !

Many people thought Hull would be the first to be relegated, citing the weakness of their squad. They have done well. Point per pound spent on their squad, they have vastly outperformed us...

I Think their Manager could have a big career ahead of him.

Don't get me wrong, I passionately want us to beat them, but I guess I don't have that kill them and stamp on them instinct.

Poor Hull !

Modern men, eh ? 😏
