Aside from sentiment I am putting a modest tenner on relegation.

This is my insurance policy because if it happens and I hadn't put a bet on it I will feel responsible.

I am now happy knowing I have done my bit in keeping us up.

Still, nail biting times ahead.

I have started something here I think. But I am prepared to stand my ground with my belief on this. How in God's name can you stand there with everyone around you being a mixture of pissed off , upset, angry, throw in a couple of kids in tears , boos, jeers and all the assortment of emotions some of which you would be feeling yourself no doubt, but in the back of you mind be thinking well its ok because I have just picked up £950. It's just (to me) so wrong. Such a conflict.

It's like betting on when a family member is going to snuff it. Sad they've gone, but glad you've cleaned up at the bookies. I just find it weird.

I like a bet by the way, never bet against my own team though.

I think a family member dying can hardly be compared to relegation. It's a f***ing game at the end of the day. We go down, we try and bounce back - hardly the end of the world.

Depends on the family member surely. I have some right b******s in my lot and would prefer that we stayed up more than they carry on breathing air.

Mike? Oh dear.

Looking at the photo it does have to be said that transgender is an unlikely possibility.

Anyway betting against palace is what I do every game. If you had traveled down to watch the crap I have mostly seen(I have missed 7 out of 10 wins due to dog issues) you would be having a hefty emotional insurance policy.

Well oddly enough that's exactly what life insurance is.

You missed the boat son, after the Liverpool game the odds of Palace going down was 200 / 1 on SKY bet. Looking at Palaces last three fixtures these were great odds. Your £50 would have netted you £10000. That would have really softened the blow.

You sir are a Jinx. Please stay away Sunday.
For the record i travel home and away to most games, I could not bring myself to put money on us to lose or get relegated. Plenty of other things/games to bet on.

18/1 skybet cpfc to be relegated a cheeky £50 would pay for a little holiday and maybe enough lager to forget for a day or two.We all know the eagle scenario will be perform sh**e against hull and turn over United that's palace

If this lot manage to get themselves relegated from a position of relative safety then why not make a few quid out of it? I don't blame you at all, at the end of the day we put enough money into supporting the team over years so go for it!!
Don't listen to those that have probably not been around long enough to suffer a last day relegation!! And if the worst happens, I'll see you at Gatwick!! Although I can't afford 50 squid, so I'll only be heading for Benidorm and I'll have to leave the enemy at home!!

Seen a similar thread last week.

Want my opinion ..

Anyone backing palace to be relegated regardless of the monetary return needs a smack in the kisser

Depends, if they used the money towards a season ticket in the championship I think its fair. Football is expensive - I guess its just 'covering the spread' in terms of emotional impact.

Glad to see its 18 to 1. Reading Palace talk you'd think they'd have closed betting.
