Probably all picking up the story from one source.

Personally I don't believe that there is any truth in it as no self respecting manager would take a job with a club where the chairman is choosing and buying the players for him

But we don't have a manager. Players don't buy themselves you know. Tempus fugit.

Then we need to hurry up and appoint one as the decision on which players we need to buy must be made by the manager which is why I don't believe that there is any truth in this story

Why? If you have a vacancy you hire, if the manager isn't currently in place you may delay for a while but not if you have an urgent need. The manager would prefer to have a squad not of his/her choosing than no squad at all.

Firstly we don't have an urgent need and secondly any half decent manager would have his own ideas about who he wants and won't be happy with his chairman acting as the director of football.

I still don't think that there is any truth in this story as surely Steve Parish wouldn't be so daft as to put off potential managers by showing them publically that they will be actually little more than a coach.

The season starts in two months. Not sure when the pre-season starts but presumably in around a month. How long do you think it takes to complete a hire?

Of course we need to get on with our hiring. And I am sure we have an existing manpower plan.

Rather than going round in circles I will just leave it that we have a difference of opinion

If there is a manager in place then I understand he'll be aggrieved if the chairman is buying players behind his back, any manager who walks into a job has to take on the players already at the club, what's the difference?

Simple. These are players that aren't already at the club

Is that the new striker with Latin flair ? I'm hopeful of getting the French central defender Sacre Bleu as well.
