Thanks for clearing that up. Who signed the completion certificate? Theyve probably left the country.

There are regulations in place - it may well be that this horrible event will lead to tightening up of some regulations (certainly cladding any building in flammable material seems crazy to me, but I'm a layman and have no relevant knowledge). This is why I find this "day of rage" farcical - what are we raging at? There are still unidentified bodies in the building, we have no knowledge of what went wrong and what the underlying cause was. It's fine to be angry (a natural reaction to death) but to call people out on the streets to be directed to be angry at who you want them to be angry at (I assume it will turn into an anti-Tory demo as these things will) is both pointless and irresponsible until more is known about what has gone on.

Changing tack, to add to my anger, the tenants association wanted to take the almo to court around safety fears but were prevented because access to legal aid has gone (because , get this, it favoured the rich). So not only were their concerns ignored, they were prevented from taking the matter further. Now is it political or not to take away help for the less well off in legal matters? I'd say it is.
