What do we reckon the budget. Have we still got a sizeable chunk left. Maybe Sakho and this loan goalie

I think we had max £30m before we signed Riedewald. Don't forget the two loan moves have cost us a few million too. Back when we loaned Tom Ince he cost us £1m for 4 months plus wages!

I speak to a number of people and the finances in terms of player budget have never been mentioned and I wouldn't expect to be privy to such information.This is a matter for the club not for me or the media.

I think it's more a case of £40 mil average net spend being manageable now for prem clubs. £10 mil last summer. That'll take last season to about £50 mil. Hence why £30 mil this summer was quoted. About £7mil on Riederwald and loan fees on Cherk & Mensah = £10 mil total. £20 mil left plus sales of one or two. Edited by Rudi Hedman (17 Aug 2017 11.03am)

I totally agree it is none of our business to have that information.
Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |

I would say fact. I've seen/heard Steve Parish interviewed on TV and radio a number of times where he's give little snippets here and there. Once after the Burnley game at home in the TV studio in the corner the ground after the game. He said then that we can't spend in the summer the amount that we did in January. We had to use part of that budget to get us out of trouble. In another interview with US radio I listened to (I might still have the audio) he told the interviewer that he had agreed with Sam 1 maybe 2 signings in the summer before he decided to retire. But now we needed a new manager that might have to be revised to 3 maybe 4. Of course, this wasn't including any money we recoup from sales. Sure, you could say that Parish isn't being 100% candid and I am reading between the lines. We can't spend like we did in January. We spent £30m on player (ex add ons, agent fees etc.) plus the loan fee for Sakho. So if we can't spend that much then it stands to reason it has to be less. Agreeing with Sam (telling Sam more like) that he can bring in 1 maybe 2 fits in with that budget too. The thing I have not read anywhere and I've heard is that Sam wasn't happy that Speroni and Delaney got new contracts without him being consulted because he didn't rate them for this season. Bare I mind I am a big Delaney fan. The thing that has been bugging me for a whole year is Pardew said he tried desperately to get Bolasie to stay but we only got the money for Benteke because he left. Something doesn't add up there.
