Isn't the money stupid? 75m for Lukaku. How much does a whole club get for staying in the prem? 100m? and 3/4 of that on ONE player when you need a squad of 24+??? And this besides wages? This is seriously silly. 30m + wages to put Benteke on a bench? Beginning to think we should maybe tell em to f@ck off and play in the Championship.

It is seriously silly but don't forget that in the case of a club like Manchester United the money from Sky is only a fraction of their total income and if Lukaku can score enough goals to get his club into the Champions League and also to do well in the competition his huge fee would still be cost effective. Likewise a large fee for Benteke to sit on the bench for Chelsea could also be cost effective for them but we have to hope that the thought of playing regularly for us would outweigh the prospect of playing occasionally for a more high profile club like Chelsea
