I can't make my mind up. I was equally excited and concerned when allardyce left as I didn't fancy another year of watching them under his guidance but didn't fancy relegation either.

De Boer is such a step into the unknown that it's only natural to worry to some extent. It would help if we knew whether he intended to play open possession football from the outset or be more pragmatic. He has stressed that prides himself on sound defence recently which I find encouraging.

Also, the club keep their cards close to their chest regarding incomings to such an extent that we don't know if we are buying at all, let alone who it might be. That makes the season hard to predict too. With what we've got right now we're going to need serious improvement from half the team to avoid another struggle, no matter what De Boer does.

If we sign two first team upgrades I'll be pretty confident. Right now, God only knows.
