Poor kid.
Welcome to England and the league's best fans.
Obviously some on here are as bad at supporting a club as the players are at playing football.

That's Life
And as funny as it may seem
Some people get their kicks stompin' on a Dream.
KEEP THE FAITH!!!!!

I felt a bit sorry for him in the first half. Some of the passes he received from Hennessy were pretty bad and he had no other option than to pass it back or hoof it up the pitch (which begs the question of why Hennessy can't just do it himself under less pressure). It was clearly part of the plan to play from the back but Hennessy has to get the ball out quicker and not try and force a short pass if there isn't one on.

The defending was collectively shocking in the first half. He was bad, particularly on their second, but was by no means the only one. Writing a 20-something year old off after his debut in a foreign league is daft though, let's give him until Christmas before deciding he's s***.

Don't have any ideas for a song and should probably try and learn to pronounce his name properly before starting to think of one.

When we were in for Riedewald I remember Dutchjohaneagle making it quite clear that he had potential but was far from the finished article so why de Boer chucked him in on Saturday is anyone's guess.

Impressed you give me that credit, and would rather have eaten humble pie but yes I saw confirmed what I was worried about. Mind you PvA was absolutely woeful as well and only TFM came out with some credit on my compatriots side.
And yes, its early to judge but I am already sick of the new "system". The "Dutch disease of possession and control" without actually creating anything may have landed at Selhurst and I would love to have a coffee with FdB and tell him my thoughts and he may even learn from that. Ray in Houston's signature was on my mind most of the game yesterday........

I think we're being quite harsh to the lad. His first game in English football against a side that were very much up for it, chasing us down at every opportunity.

Saying that, I don't know why Tomkins wasn't starting. He's our most technically gifted defender in my opinion.

That has to go down as being one of the greatest understatements I've ever seen on here...it's plainly ridiculous to boo a kid who is technically on the ball better than most in the squad.

I get that he needs to show more mettle and get up to speed quickly with the physicality of the game but our fans wont care about that if they can pin the blame on someone within 30mins of his debut.

I am not for booing own players at all and I won't yet I may have screamed in frustration Saturday as well. And he is not a kid, stop talking about young players as kids needing time. I was not excited about him coming as he failed to win a regular starting place in one of the weaker leagues in Europe, has been used all his life to lots of time on the ball, and on the rare occasion he has not, has been unimpressive (look back for the first ManU goal in the UEFA League final for instance).
We are not at non league level pleasure football. Someone playing, especially a defender needs to come up with the goods and he did not so can be rightly criticized. I even have seen people blaming Dann (who certainly was not great himself) for his poor performance, but compare it to the one of TFM , younger yet, and you can not help feeling there is a massive difference and he may well be out of his depth at PL level.

I'm not a fan of booing at all, although the Sunderland game was an exception. The blokes in front of me booed at the end of the first half, and I don't like that. Its the first game of the season for god's sake.

But they had paid £50 per head or whatever to watch some pretty heavy-duty toilet.

I kinda feel bad for starting this thread now. I was being tongue in cheek to begin with. For anything negative I say on here, I want to assure you all that I keep all my negativity outside of Selhurst Park. I wasn't really condoning singing of a hurtful song after the guy's had one bad game or even 100 bad games. I have in the past applauded Wilbraham, Akinbiyi, Kuqi, Hennessey and Campbell. I applauded the whole team off at half time on Saturday as well as I was sat near the tunnel. I didn't feel like applauding them, but I did.

Zaha and Hennessey looked quite confused by the applause from the home fans though, I have to say!

Yeah, they should have blooded him in against one of the easier sides in the league like Huddersfield...Oh hang on a minute...
