We buy a £27m striker and play a style that creates nothing for him in open play, leaves him isolated and forces him to chase CB's even though he's no comfortable with it and never was (ask Liverpool). We know he's probably the best in the air in the league and we stay narrow and keep it on the ground?

wtf?!

Maybe a £27 striker should be able to do more than head a ball.....
Watching him saturday, He's either lazy, unfit or just useless with the ball at his feet. Don't know how much HT paid for their new striker, but he looked miles better than Benteke.

This is the reason that he was unsuccessful at Liverpool. He's one of the best target man's in the division. We must play to his strengths.

Playing with that ridiculous formation and 'tactics', FDB may as well have sent Benteke out on the pitch blindfolded.

George Courtney, the World Cup referee, everyone is looking at him. When will he blow....?

Actually we'd be better off with Bumfluff. At least he'd cost less.

I would like him to be able to do through ball shooting instead of relying just on headers. Obviously this requires capability of our midfield. Look at Lukaku's 2 goals yesterday.

So basically, Benteke should ditch his primary (and widely recognised) asset - aerial power- and adapt to the experiment? Fine.
In that case why not just sell him to a team that wants to play to those strengths and buy a striker whose primary strengths are on the ground?
That would avoid everyone slagging off Beneteke for not changing his natural playing style and satisfy FDB's ego/grand plan.
I think CB is one of the best headers in the PL - get those crosses in from the wings and he will score.

Agreed. When you have one striker of any pedigree in your squad and he just so happens to be your all time most expensive signing, you have to build a system that works for him.

Yeah he was all of those last season, only 15 PL goals(17 goals in total); what a total waste of £27m. And it only took us until our forth season in the PL before we signed a striker that was worthy of the name so it should be a piece of cake to replace him. Just one question worth considering though; how did he (and arguably the rest of the team) become so sh*t between the end of May and the beginning of August?
