Anyone watch it? I watched the first 20 minutes then flicked through it. Utter rubbish. Idealistic young 'British' people go of to fight for the Caliphate. When in Syria, half of the IS 'soldiers' and women are white! Shots of a ISIS white girl with long blond hair sitting there without her head covered! It is a left/liberal attempt to paint such evil volunteers as some sort of victims with the suggestion that many of them are white. A disgrace that it is being broadcast. Well here's one ISIS member: White. Then there is the ex-punk from Kent and the German and the teenager from Sydney:White plus others of the same hue are over there. The main protagonists are of Asian and African extraction so your beef is dismissed. Next!

For the record quite a few Syrians would pass for 'white'.

Also, the visual difference between lighter coloured Syrians and most genetic Europeans is nearly always quite obvious. I haven't watched it because....well, only for the reason that I don't watch much telly anymore. But I wouldn't be surprised if this was another ideological attempt to present a picture that has little to do with reality.

The fanatics are there, the idealists, the lied to, the coerced young, the nutters, the hard. It doesn't paint a picture of The Caliphate being one big happy family on their way to paradise at all. Very educational too. Had no idea ISIS theologians actually want to be defeated to enable the prophecies to come to fruition until 48 hrs ago. When that happens Jesus will apparently come back down and lead them again into the final battle. Life of Brian 2?

I don't really need to get my info from TV researchers and writers. I very much doubt there is really a consensus on 'wanting to be defeated' to bring in prophecies...that's not meant to happen by design. The rise of IS was very much a practical 'achievement'.
