Cast your minds back when last December, when big Sam was appointed and the words that Steve parish used was the player need a system their comfortable in and it's time to turn back the dial. My question is did he see Dann, Kelly and others struggle to adapt to a possession based game under pardew. Our DNA has always been hard to beat, good counter attacking side. When you appoint a manager that been schooled in the academy of Ajax and Barcelona, what style did you think we are gonna play. Unless there's a considerable budget, should appoint a 40 pts manager and not gamble with our prem status.

Is parish to blame for our lack of identity?

We should have gone for Dyche - safe option. Parish has got it drastically wrong and needs to act soon and relieve FDB from his duties.

FDB has 3 games to show he can adapt and get the best out of our players - if this continues we are no better than when AP was here

This was once a quality forum....

We are running out of firefighters. ATM don't blame FDB. 8m is not enough to mould a team in a new style. 0 pts in the next 2. Then there should be answers.

Very rarely have I come on here and had a go. Buy my days it did not take a rocket scientist to see that Parish has made a really poor appointment. I don't blame the current manager but Parish who sadly has not learnt his lesson from the previous seasons in the prem. Dyche should have been appointed would have fitted Palace style of play perfectly. Unfortunately this time round there are no Pulis, Alardyce type managers up for grabs to dig us out of a whole.

Yes we are only 3 games in but that performance today was shocking. Players put in positions they are so clearly not comfortable with. In the Premier League you don't have time to tamper with the squad, style of football. Just stick to what you know works and build on it slowly but surely. Very worrying.

Curly eagles dad, 45 years of Palace. Never ever a dull moment, Oh Happy Days

I agree. Parish wanted more wins at home and Dyche managed 10 at home last season and knows how to set up a team to play to it's strengths.

Our identity is being Palace not in what style of football we play . Its about turning up and supporting our boys come rain or shine , good days or bad , that's our identity.

Our home form has been a joke playing counter attacking football . We are useless with the ball which is why when we have it we are crap, its why we lost to Sunderland , Swansea and Burnley at the back end of last season and why we have lost to Huddersfield and Swansea this .
If you want to accept the odd great day out away to some of the big boys as our identity then great but we will always struggle in this league if we can not beat the teams in the bottom half of the table at home .

Parish knows this and only a change in style will achieve it (tried unsuccessfully with Pardew ). Whether FDB is the man who will achieve it remains to be seen but lets give the guy a chance . I wouldn't like to see the crowd on his back , just yet .

And we still need a striker

I agree, we should have gone for Dyche although hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Such a shame it took SP some 6 weeks to finally appoint a replacement.
