Given the shambolic mistakes we've seen our defenders make this season, I'd argue we need him as well as Sakho.

God this transfer deadline Day is all over the place. If the money saving on Mangala is to get a striker in I think I'd rather take the risk and sign Sakho and pray Benteke stays fit and give Ladapo and Anderson runouts here and there. Mangala has not looked good in the prem, does not look like a calming influence which our current defence desperately needs and he is not a leader.

At best he's no better than what we already have, at worst he's a liability.
