Getting Sakho is the deal we all wanted and I am super chuffed but, as with Benteke, we got it at the 11th hour, 3 games in. Riedewald and the loan signings seem reasonable signings too and RLC has been our best player so far.

However, only having one first team striker on the books and fit and one out and out RB in Ward as well as two very mediocre keepers still, I can't say this has been a success. In fact, we needed the Sakho signing to make this Window anywhere approaching reasonable. Our first 11 - assuming FDB swallows his pride- is good, but - my God - that squad is thin. We have been unlucky with injuries in the past couple of seasons so I am AMAZED we are taking risks the way we are. I wouldn't be worried with a manager better than FDB but, unfortunately , I think this is going to be yet another season of struggle with that squad. All I desired is a season where we avoid relegation without a desperate struggle. I can't see us avoiding the struggle; I do see our team having enough quality to just about avoid the drop but I am just so frustrated that we are facing a season yet again with one hand tied behind our backs.

Any sort of injury or suspension to Ben and we are screwed, it's laughable we have one striker.

I totally agree. SP and the board talk the talk and roll out all the propaganda saying 'we hope to get 3 players over the line' how many times have we heard that before ?
Basically if we do not improve by January and pick up points we will be right in the s***.
We can blame FdB all we like and the system hes trying to playing, but on Saturday apart from one player this was last seasons players on the pitch, also know one knows how long it will be before Sakho is match fit ? so it could be same old same old for a few more matches to come ? we will see
I would not blame FdB one bit if he decided to walk away , although the dutch are very stubborn people by nature. This lack of transfer activity seems to me to be either we are skint or we are just useless at dealing in the transfer market .

Yep agree. Also that our number 1 goalkeeper has the same sized b*llocks as the lion in the wizard of oz

Happy with Sakho. Really disappointed and concerned. I agree we needed a striker, a br and a gk. our squad is weak. I'm not sure what our bank balance is but we needed more to be spent.
I think we lost out on several players who were attracted to other clubs for whatever reason.
I will still go and support our great club, but I now think a painful season is ahead of us.

We dont know what happened with respect to deals with Niasse and Cenk. Had these happened it would have been a very good transfer window. Without them the squad is dangerously vulnerable in the striker dept

Teams are gonna be smashing that right flank all season and we´re going to suffer because of it. Ward not signing an extension suggested something was going to be done about it but apparently not. Getting rid of Campbell (and J Benteke) suggested we were going to be getting a replacement in as well, but again apparently not. Same story with selling Mandanda.

Rumours are that the Niasse deal was scuppered by a problem over agents fees and whilst we had agreed a fee for Cenk we apparently wanted to pay it over four years

We have players that can play right back. Fosu Mensah can play right wing back also if necessary. Ward does not need to be playing. Tomkins can play right back. Riedewald has played right back. Kelly can play right back (he had a clanger last time but can do a job sometimes). For me I would put TFM there with Sakho and Tomkins in the middle. Include Riedewald/Dann if its 3 centre backs with other as cover. Dont get me wrong, I am not saying I am happy about what Parish and Freedman just pulled off, but we dont need to be playing Joel Ward anyway.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

all stay fit with manager showing pragmatism and social skills: top 8 form, no bother
key men injured and 343: relegation form

Parish rolled the dice big time. when's Wilf back?

"Board to back struggling Fdb" all the headlines read in these last few days.
Pish. We all know that Parish´ skills lie with public image, it´s how he made his millions after all, so getting the above into public eye is very pretty, but Palace fans are starting to see through it now.
As somebody else stated, Sakho is a Parish signing, not FdB. All they´ve given him is eight million and two loanees.
