Maybe a decent signing would be the Tottenham Physio who seems to have miraculously managed to get Harry Kane on the bench for today's game against Chelsea !!

It may come to that :-)

Isnít it a case of motivation though? Kane is Spurs through and through, he is in a team that is playing well and winning and he is scoring goals for fun. He also wants to make sure he is Englandís first choice striker. Of course he wants to get back in the team ASAP.

What motivation do our injured players have to get back playing? To help a team, that they have no particular attachment to, try to stave off relegation and risk a further injury that could scupper their chances of a big money move in the summer if we go down? Look at Sakho as an example. He was cleared fit by the medical staff, but didnít feel ready. Wilf is the exception. He is every bit as much Palace as we are and always busts a gut to return, invariably ahead of schedule and perhaps earlier than is best for him.

There is some merit in a mind over matter argument in some circumstances but Iím not sure we can exercise one with respect to different individuals with different injuries. A psychological or cognitive willingness canít completely overcome a physiological deficit.

No sign of him returning to play this season based on Roy's comments .

If this is so then presumably we could take him out of the 25 man squad to make room for a signing or loan next window.

If not then it supports the thinking that he will come back and be in physical shape and attitude to make a contribution in the second half of this current season.

Watching the highlights of the 5-1 thrashing of Newcastle reminded what he can do when fit

Let's see SP and the board trying to line up for a piss in the AW toilets at half time before peddling the new stand. We're the Arthur over here and the facilities are a disgrace

What did Roy say? Last I'd heard he was finally back in training. If he's still not ready then surely his career is finished?

In the real world, an employee unable to fulfil their role would be Ďoutí well before now. Iím not saying thatís Ďgoodí or Ďfairí or Ďjustí etc, just stating a fact that employers arenít obliged to keep paying staff who are incapable of doing their jobs.

the relevant fact is he is on a fixed term contract and that can't be broken by the club except under terms included in that contract

Canít believe how many sour t***s are posting things like Ďin any other business heíd be out by nowí.

The fact is heís had a really serious injury pulling on a red and blue shirt. Now there is a possibility he isnít going to be the same player, but is that a reason to have a dig at him?

I really hope we can get something out of him. Heís honest like a run at the near post, and he score a pretty damn important goal for us not so long ago.

I really hope he reads this thread and takes in all the hate, and proves some of you wrong.

Players donít chose to get a cruciate injury, and theyíve robbed plenty worse and plenty better of their careers.

Iím sure you are right. I was merely pointing out the juxtaposition with the Ďnormalí ie employment world (but even that will have many different scenarios). I didnít mean to imply that Connor should be Ďdismissedí.

If you are classing me as a sour t*** then I hope Iíve explained my position in the other post I just made. I do NOT think CW should be ditched (even if that were possible) and I wish him well for an eventual recovery and future success.

Since he's been out injured since November 2016, it was actually quite some time ago.

It's not hate that people are expressing, it's being practical about a man who hasn't (and doesn't look likely to have) played a match for over 2 years. That is one hell of a long time for a professional in his peak years.
