After the embarrassing debacle of the transfer window, I'd like to know everyone's thoughts on 3 teams who are worse than us.
I'd possibly say Brighton and maybe Newcastle, but that is being hopeful as they both have better managers in my opinion.

Burnley
Newcastle
Brighton
Huddersfield

There you go if we can't finish above these 4. We don't deserve our place at the top table.

Brighton- obviously. Poor squad despite bringing in loads
Newcastle- same problem as us, thin squad, and crap strikers
West Ham- still haven't settled at new home. Not a great squad

Would have said Swansea but Bony and Sanchez represented cracking deadline day business. They should be okay

I'll just retrospectively edit my post at the end of the season if my trousers look at risk

Maybe am alone in thinking the recent transfer window wasnt a debacle? We made two excellent loan signings in Loftus Cheek and Fosu Mensah, as well as signing Sakho who is one of the best CBs around and also an inspirational leader. Not so sure about Reiderwalde, but supposedly very good on the ball etc. If you add in the January signings of Luka, and two very good left backs/wingbacks, then the last 9 months has seen a significant upgrade to about half the team. We also have a very good PL level striker in Benteke. OK we are still vulnerable to an injury to Benteke. But basically we have most of the elements to make a solid mid table team.

We did however in my view (and many others) make the wrong choice of manager, and becuase of that a team of basically very good players has been made to look uncomfortable, ordinary and toothless.

It was only a bad window in terms of bringing in personnel to play 3-4-3. If we were playing 4-2-3-1 or a derivative of that then we'd all be salivating over the improved quality of our back four right now.

Time will tell if it's a bad window. I'd like to hope it'll nudge Frank back towards a gradual transition of tactics rather than a blind plunge into the deep end.

At the moment and post transfer window its looking like, in reverse order-
Brighton;
Newcastle;
us / west ham.
Don't know why someone has mentioned Stoke, or Burnley?
How I wish now he had chosen Dyche, especially as I had £20 on him at good odds.

The thing is the quality of our players is a lot better than many teams , our problem is getting them to play as a team.
This then suggests you need to take into account the manager as well and the way it is going there will not be many below us. We do however live in hope.

Confidence is fine, but I urge you not to risk losing those bell-bottoms with embroidered rear pockets and snake-belt.
