I wonder if its ever happened, that the holder of the red jersey falls off his bike and loses the race in the final 'procession' in Madrid. I trust not and what an outstanding athlete how does he do it. Ungainly action, looks like he needs a steak and chips, has plenty of 'mechanicals'. Hope he does get a gong amazing man.

He got a bit of stick for having the temerity to win the green jersey as well as the red one. When I say stick it was a bit of grumbling from the team mates of Trentin, rather than the booing and throwing piss in his face that those lovely fans of le tour think of as a bit of stick. He should get a knighthood, never mind a top 3 place on SPOTY.

Sports personality does baffle me i'd have thought Mo Farah would be nailed on this year having never won it with Froome battling it out, but no. Odds on fav is Anthony Joshua Farah is our greatest track and field athlete ever and one of the greatest long distance runners of all time, this year was his swansong. Froome's achievements also have been outstanding. Joshua will have plenty of opportunities in the future

As long as you don't have to take a drug test , Mo Farah should go Close in SPOTY . BTW loved his trousers back in the day
