Chris Sutton was correct with what he said, but that was before hearing about all the stuff that has come out, on top of the debacle in pre season with Luka and Ward which showed v Huddersfield, the players out of position, two 19 year olds at centre back, playing a system without any sing backs in the squad. The list goes on and on. Isolating players then days later needing them and to come in and perform for you.

Jason Cundy said on Monday the person who decided on Frank should go. He has a good point although that's probably Parish. Parish moves Parish really, until he doesn't correct his last financially costly premier league fvck up. Cundy has now said today that it sounds as if the relationship between manager and chairman broke down so it's for the best they part company.

What I'd like to see is some pundits compare their opinion on the hiring and firing and then take into account Frank's approach. Nobody comes out of this well. Parish, Frank, players. But to keep saying '4 games' just shows their limitations to analyse anything longer than 2 sentences. A lot of simpletons like football.

The stuff that has come out about the players and their supposed ill treatment remains speculative. Until one of the players has the balls to come out and say something publicly it should be treated as such too. Out of all parties involved in this debacle they are the ones which are getting away with escaping any flak. Regardless of shape, formation, tactics the starting eleven were good enough to beat Huddersfield and get at least a point against Swansea and Burnley.

There are number of them who have been at this club for a number of seasons who purely from a playing point of view are not good enough and should have been moved during the summer. Unfortunately i can see it now being them rather than the Lokilo's etc that we have on the bench or in reserve. If FdB only did one thing at least he gave that lad a chance.

You're right that player for player we should have beaten Swansea and Huddersfield but I thought our starting XI v Burnley was poor (yet our best game!)

However,'shape, formation, tactics' are gargantuan factors; the fact that de Boer DIDN'T beat those teams above with players who are capable surely shows his limitations. I mean, the formation v Huddersfield was an utter disgrace. Players look s***e when they're used poorly. Look, I am not exempting players from criticism - a few of the old guard have been 'out of form' for too long now - but de Boer was nowhere near getting the best out of them.

I am not declaring that de Boer didn't make mistakes. I highlighted some of his mixed up messages after the first game. In the last game FdB played a formation that seemingly everyone on this site wanted him to play. Each player played in a natural position and there wasn't any square pegs in round holes. We lost. The loss wasn't down to tactics, shape or formation, it was down to individual mistakes that he had no control over. You can be the worlds greatest tactician but if you have players who aren't able to stop making mistakes (Luca pass and benteke miss at L'pool, Lee pass and Dann miss at Burnley) you are toast.

Some of the old guard are not out of form. They are simply no longer good enough and should have been moved on. We allowed Pardew to get rid of Jedinak but it may appear that de Boer couldnt get rid of Delaney & Kelly (who would both be used very sparingly anyway) etc and shape his own squad, whether that be through transfers or youngsters (as per Ajax).

It hasn't worked out for whichever reason so it will be interesting to see how Roy attacks things. As I said previously, I just hope that we don't totally abandon the plan to develop youngsters and the academy with the sole aim of avoiding 18th in the premier league for 2 years. I can't help but feel that the financial implications of imply staying up are reducing he enjoyment And love of the game for supporters of clubs like ours.

This debate may go on for days, weeks, months....

We will never quite know the truth...but clearly SP knew a few weeks ago that he had made a bad decision. He likes to be involved and clearly the feedback from the players was not positive! How many of them have defended/thanked Frank in the last 24 hours...not many!

To appoint Roy within 24 hours means that negotiations has already reached an advance stage.

This is it....Roy is the manager...we have a good squad....we now have to just do what we do best...support the team and rebuild the spirit!

Really looking forward to the Southampton game. There will certainly be a different feeling around the stadium.

Its all good to say we should have won this and that match but the fact is this team didnt win without Sakho under Sam and rarely under Pardew. During that run the players were getting alot of flak for being an overpaid bunch of slackers.

FDB had to take that team minus Zaha and do what Pardew and Sam couldnt with 3 young players added. What a surprise it didnt work.

How did we go through a long and so called exhaustive process to find a bloke who reportedly then cant articulate a plan. Did he not do that in the interviews. Did we not talk to Inter Milan about what went wrong. Then we pick up the bloke judged not as good in the first process and on we go. The whole process has been a disaster.

Roy now has a task and a half to make this all work. We need the injured players back and to be honest a bit of luck.

I think SP has done well by moving swiftly with FdB and getting RH in now. Perhaps he has learnt from the painful dithering over Pardews dismissal and remembers how we slowly dug ourselves into a deeper hole every Saturday afternoon, desperately waiting for the turnaround in form that never came.
By pulling the trigger this week, before the fixtures get ugly, we should have a more buoyant and dare I say it optimistic atmosphere at selhurst park on Saturday. Then enter stage left a returning hero like Wilf or Mamadou Sakho (or both !) and all we need is a bit of effort from the team and a win to send the crowd delirious and begin our recovery.

33 days versus 2. He is a bit more decisive about firing managers now than with Pardew too, eh. Parish has made a massive mistake, and its pretty disappointing to see him do that after all these years of learning the ropes. He royally cocked up the transfer window, and royally cocked up the 33 day long recruitment of a new manager. Parish looks like an absolute schoolboy right now. But he will keep on being Parish, as when you are a football chairman, you dont have to be accountable for screwing things up and making awful decisions when you should know better. Somehow this is De Boer's fault. Dont get me wrong, he hasnt helped himself with team selections, but why is Pulis doing another Stoke at West Brom but couldnt do it at Palace. Why did Allardyce not only quit the club but retire from the game, when at Palace. Why did we hire a manager so wrong, so totally and completely wrong, that he needed to be fired after 4 league games (or apparently 3). Why do we only have 1 fit striker. Why did we not sign a goalie, even after releasing than young keeper to supposedly make room for a free agent GK signing, when we have had issues with the goalie for over 12 months. Why couldnt we sell a single player of note in the transfer window. Why the comedy of errors, constantly, at Palace. Its because of Parish screwing things up all the time, he is not cut out to be a chairman of a PL club, simple as that. I hope one day he will realize that and move on.

We have got 4 really tough games coming up. In his short space of time with us FdB has left us in a really bad place......bottom. I believe we have the personnel to pull us through but I also believe we now have a long hard fight on our hands. Roy is used to this sort of thing, but be prepared for our position in the league not improving for a good few games and don't forget who put us there. As supporters it is vital we now keep our nerve as I very much doubt we will be zooming up the table anytime soon. This season will be all about injuries. To avoid the drop we are going to need our key players to get fit and stay fit and avoid suspension etc. Knees seem to be our big issue. Here is hoping our star and last seasons player of the year make fast full recoveries to lead us out of our current plight. For sure it can be done. There were signs at Burnley of our strengths. Now we have to deliver the results.

And who would you like instead? He makes plenty of mistakes but we're not the only club to have had an average transfer window and the last one was the best I can remember. Frank presumably had some input into the window or maybe the problem was that he didn't? Far better the devil you know who cares passionately for the club in my opinion though i know there are those who argue that they'd prefer their chairman to be less close emotionally to the club.

SP is Undoubtedly responsible for this f*ck up. FDB was the wrong fit for us from day one. Fair play to him for pulling the trigger early enough.

A agree about these so called experts. They can f*ck off and do one. If what's been said about his manner on the training pitch in pissing off everyone is true that alone is enough to get rid. Let alone the fact that he couldn't set up a game of tiddlywinks let alone a football team. His substitutions were crap and he seemed completely unaware of how sh*t we have looked. Moving Luka and Ward over to every position on the pitch in preaseason and then changing when the season starts. He was a moron.

Having said all that, it was still SPs mistake and he needs to take a step back and stay in the boardroom. These reports that Damo, Ward and Julian are on personal terms with him and are often texting about things like the manager etc is pretty dodgy and to be honest none of them are really good enough anymore but they are still here, I wonder who decided to extend their contracts.

He is a good chairman, but he needs to learn from his recent mistakes.

What a shame Sammy Lee is shown the door. Think he would have been golden in the new set-up!
