Played some nice football at times first half. Died Second half.

Huddersfield's left back was very good and they should have made better use of a few good situations down that side.

Despite showing some nice touches Sako is overweight and might as well not have been on the pitch last half hour. He and Lee failed to hold the ball and take the pressure off.

Riedewald went AWOL second half.

It was more of a fluid formation between 4-4-2 and a 4-2-3-1. Jairo and Luka sat deep allowing the wingers to attack and Sako/Lee rotating to sit in the hole and hold the ball up.

Couldn't disagree more...looked assured, got involved, gave an option when laying the ball off...passing was accurate and started to look as though he can mix it when the going gets rough. He allowed Luka to forray up the field..he tired in 2nd half and had a slight hamstring pull which is why he came off...but all in all a good performance

All about opinions. Watching him closely from 5 rows back, he gave the ball away too many times, and seemed a little lost. Not saying it was an awful performance, he can obviously pass the ball well, but can't see him getting much game time in front of luca, RLC, Cabaye, macarther and puncheon (although I'd play him in front of puncheon). But does give us an option off the bench and could be a starter next season.

Glad you enjoyed my stream! Unfortunately the steward asked me to stop filming the second half so only got around 8 minutes of it.

I feel sure there are quite a few blokes that are grateful for your stream and its a pity that the steward felt he had to stop you. Many thanks it was great what you did happen to stream. 10/10

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

You must've been the row behind me lol as I was 4 back, behind the dugouts

Completely agree with RLC, Cabaye and McArthur being in front of him...not Puncheon though on ability...but clearly because he's has the armband.

If you were behind the dugout, did you notice how vocal ray Lewington was. At one point he just kept screaming....pass, move, pass, move....clearly something they're trying to get the players to do. Did if well first half, But not yet fit enough to do it for 90 mins...

Well done all the team. And wonderful to see Jules there.

This should give them confidence - that they can score a goal, keep a clean sheet and win! - and at home, too!

Just wanted to say well done again to them

Love these about Captain Julian, Sakho and Souare, and the others:

I had to dig pretty deep online to find a site prepared to give the night's attendance, maybe there was some shame in giving it out.

Anyway 6.607 showed up for that glorified friendly.

That's a tough one to work out if you think about it.

During the 1980's, when I went more regularly than now, league gates were 5,000-6,000.

A League Cup tie would not see much off a drop-off from that.

(Remember when Big Ron's Man Utd came and kept their 100% start to the season going and the 0-0 with Sunderland, which must be the shortest featured TV highlights ever).

6,607 is absolutely abject. I did not go due to apathy from within my group, coupled with a £20.00 admission.

I can't get my head around it really. I don't think making it a fiver would suddenly see 20,000 turning up do you?

Maybe in reality we have not advanced from the 'Loyal 5,000' Steve Coppell talked about thirty years ago.
