Had a tweet pop up suggesting problems between the two, evidently it's in Wrightys book, having no inclination to buy the book, anyone with any info ?

Jim Cannon (allegedly) was bitter towards the newer players (Wright, Gray, Finnigan etc) coming through and Stevie Coppell and Brighty have said the same!

I seem to recall reading that Wright nutmegged Cannon in training and it is not considered the thing to do to a fellow pro during training.

It wasn't just Jim from what I remember. You had a handful of 30-something seasoned pros at the club in 1984-85 and then Finnigan, Gray and Wrighty arrived all not long out of their teens so a bit cocky and that was that. Never the twain.

Jim played with Vince, Tony Sealy and others too and no apparent problems. At least I hope that was the reason. Anyway Coppell soon got rid so Jim's behaviour must have been over the top somehow.
