Yesterday marked the 40th anniversary of Billy Gilbert's debut away to Blackpool.

What we would give for Billy's boots in the team today. What a centre-half. Mr Consistent who never took prisoners. I make you right about him being our last home grown centre half which is a surprise. 18 years old. Just wouldn't happen today at Palace which is a regrettable.
