I think this guy deserves his own thread.

I'm conservatively excited about several of his projects.....hyperloop, batteries, mars mission....Here is a recent speech focused on his SpaceX.

[Link]

I'm also aware of the criticisms he gets for possible over-reach....Thunderfoot on Youtube being a particular critic.

I'd be interested to know of the forum's thoughts on Musk and what developments they are most excited or most critical about.

True, though Nasa is also amazing.

I saw the thread name and thought it was about cough cures. Remember Caligula in 'I Claudius', when a kid had a persistent cough he had him beheaded to stop it.

Amazing fella.
I remember seeing the Tesla roadster at the Canary Wharf motor show some years back and having to remind myself that the thing was actually electric. There's now a Tesla showroom in the Wharf, and I'll be more than a little tempted when the price comes down a bit (next year, I believe, sees mass production of the new cheaper model family saloon whose name eludes me.

I also have more confidence in him to get to Mars than any of the government agencies, and I'm sure he'll be at the leading edge of innovation for years to come, as well as much of his stuff having benefits for mankind in general (in terms of cleaner energy etc).

Yep, his Mars proposals are far more adventurous than Nasa's.

Let's hope he's on the money with what's possible.....I'm not sure how the low gravity affect on the human body problem can be very easily solved myself.

True, but even if it doesn't work, advances and discoveries will be made along the way (same with his Hyperloop technology) which may then go on to be used in other projects.

More power to his elbow, I say!
