But lets not forget that Palace were in for Solanke from the first day of the transfer window.

That suggests that there was always a requirement to get another striker in.

The deal for Batshuayi appears to have been offered to us by Chelsea rather than us going looking for it.

CW is the best non-Batshuayi striker we have. But he's hurt constantly.

Ideally, we ride Bats this season, then get rid of Benteke/Wickham/Ayew in the off-season, and replace them with two halfway decent strikers.

Really, I'm so sick of hoping CW will be healthy. He won't. He never will. He has proven it over and over.

Same with Benteke's ability to "regain his old form". He won't. He never will.
