We had two great chances to score - Wilf with that first half header and PVA sliding in but somehow missing it. We can't keep giving up such chances. Their goal would have simply been a consolation. Reminds me of the Burnley game all over again.

Benitez did a good job getting his defence to nullify our no-striker approach while forsaking any ambition from his own side. They then got a goal out of nothing. Wilf did well last week but it is clear he is not a striker and he was not involved enough up top and at times appeared to be copying the Bentenke approach (I hope that was just because he is not 100% fit). A bit of chess game this match. A really, really boring chess game.

We deserved at least a point today, lack of a striker is showing. If we lose next week we will equal the start under Holloway (3 out of 30 points),I believe. Only hope the season ends the same way it did then.

We were the better side. They were s*** and offered nothing but AGAIN we concede from a corner... We clearly have a problem with defending corners. As others said. We are playing better, creating more but we have no strikers... IF we get relegated this season it will be for no other reason than the fact the board thought it was acceptable to start a season with one striker... How must Ladapo feel?... We would rather throw a centre back up front than have him on the bench.

The ball came at him like a bullet from about four yards out. The only way any goalie would have saved that was if it had hit them unless they were of the Lloris ability.
