Roy has lost the plot he said in an article on Team Talk he was making only 3 changes from Saturday as we can handle 2 games in a week, then changes 10 players and our subs are all the youngsters. He might have a case of dementia as he is forgetting what he is saying? Further just to prove the point when Zaha played in the Chelsea game he stayed on the pitch for the full 95 minutes even though he hadn't played for 2 months yet against Newcastle he was taken off kicking and screaming with Roy citing he needed a break as he was tired and he didn't want him injured? Does he actually know what he is doing?

its called tactics he didnt want to say im changing everyone might as well send the team sheet direct give them chance to pick there team after seeing ours,
wilf was tired against chelsea showing signs against newcastle he was also,
do you want him out the rest of the season also it was still nil nil, wilf feels he is the only chance we have of getting out of this, which means the pressure is on him to stay on the pitch from the fans, roy would sooner keep him out there but the injury could happen again from tiredness,
so wilf will feel fitter and stronger next match and matchs after by not putting more strain on a recovering injury

Since when was an article in Team Talk a binding promise?

Agree, just been on the radio and he was very disappointed with them.

I thinkbwe have sadlybwitnessed the future at Ashton Gate. A team bereft of ideas managed by a man who is out of touch and a club being misrun. We are championship bound and the players left will be of the calivre we saw last night. The players are not fighting for the club and the defending is beyond a joke every week.

You do know that was our dross last night in the league cup?

Great post by The_Aviator earlier in this thread.

Agree with everything. Ashton Gate is a top stadium for a championship side, makes Selhurst look like a cowshed. So much for having billionaire investors.

Nothing about last night gave us any hope that our situation can improve, each week we hit a new low, we are laughed at by everyone and it’s embarrassing to call yourself a Palace fan at the moment.

The decline of Palace is like watching a much loved but terminally ill family member slowly pass away before your very eyes.

The ground is lovely. Looked and wondered if we will ever have a stadium like that at selhurst park. It was impressive and had to remind myself several times it's home to a championship side. Not what I was expecting at all.

Game started well. We played well to start off. The atmosphere was great and when we went a goal up I thought this could be a great night and well worth the effort of driving all that way.

The wheels came off pretty quickly. The amount of our on fans arguing with each other and hurling insults at each other was ridiculous. Singing we're s*** and we know we are and singing about Julian speroni had lots of us shaking our heads. Being shouted at and heckled by our own supporters for leaving at 85 mins was the icing on the cake

What concerns me about all this is that our Premier League team is now under no pressure to perform because they all know their places are pretty much safe – until January at least. Players need competition. Using Benteke as a prime example, I think a contributory factor in his below par performances this season is that he knows there is no one in the squad remotely capable of challenging for his position and he’s nailed on to start when fit.

I understand people are p1ssed about last night as i would be by the capitulation but it's always possible a bigger team is replaced with stand ins that haven't played with each other and end up losing.

This was always possible when people bought their tickets or left from work or from the house on Tuesday afternoon, and trust me, I've been through it myself.

This is as much about lack of respect from clubs AND players for cup competitions with no financial reward and little prestige left as it is not wanting to fight back for travelling fans.

I know people aren't happy but it was always possible. Bristol city play together every week. That lot last night don't, or don't even play. Great in a previous round, completely insulted the next. I'm glad I don't let them mug me off with these sorts of games anymore. The chairman, shyte manager and first team players do it in the first 3 games instead.

We lost to a team of journeymen and a championship manager.
The reason: you can't put out an entire team that have never played together as a first eleven. You slowly introduce new and younger players into an already experienced team as has been done at Man.Utd.
To think we could get a result by fielding an entirely new team was madness, thinking they were good enough to beat a good championship side. You can't do that at any level of football.
Palace had some good individual players on the field, but a couple were playing out of position.
Basically, we are reaping what we sowed during our terrible transfer window which has led to a lack of confidence and a awful start to what was going to be a promising season. Did I hear someone say that this will be a league fixture for us next season? Maybe not if Bristol City find themselves in the Premiership!
They should be very proud, we should hang our heads in shame!
