If any Palace player does the same gesture no matter how he plays you don't throw it back.
If I saw it happen I would have thrown that so called fan on the pitch. Then picked him up and thrown him again

Just to be clear... are we never allowed to express any feelings other than undying love and support ?

Unless you are desperate to give something back to longstanding fans that have urged you on through the worst year of your life.

I’d have followed up park road’s chucking with some nasty irony, or possibly even weapons grade sarcasm on the eejit wot dun it.

so when is the right time, is it only if we have won or played brilliant,
anytime a player throws a shirt into the fans he is saying thank you or sorry, take it and treasure it get him to sign it,
i would never in a million years would I give Pele his shirt back even if we had lost twenty nil,at the end of it Pape didnt deserve that the man nearly died and his football career was nearly over football and losing 4-1 isnot that important in life

You can and are allowed to have whatever feelings you so desire.
My post was clear enough for the astute that throwing a shirt back at a player who I suspect threw it either to say thanks for the fans support when he was in hospital or just to appreciate the support that turned up is a disgrace.
This goes for any other player who might have done the same.
Now if that's too difficult to comprehend and isn't clear enough then I can't help you

Park, Thank you for expanding your explanation.

My original post was to try and ascertain what is
an acceptable level of dissatisfaction that can be expressed at a player or team.

I accept you say that it is never in any circumstances right to throw back a shirt.

What do you feel about those shouting/singing "You're not fit to wear the shirt" ?

Is this ever acceptable?

Yes! I think this is acceptable mate.
If your getting paid vast amounts of money and constantly underperforming, or worse look like your not bothered then yes totally justifiable

I think the point was it was directed at one player not the team and it was the wrong player to direct there anger at,
how many times have you sat in a meeting at work with the manger slating everyone as a team when you know some are not as much to blame as others

Park, I absolutely agree ... All I would like to add is that if someone is deemed "not fit to wear the shirt" then that player, by definition, must also have the shirt thrown back at him.

Of course, this does not apply to Papa and referring to my original post, I was only querying if the outrage caused was because it was Papa and not any other player.

By the way you have to love Julian... who defends the fan throwing the shirt on Sky Sports.

I'm out of the country at the moment and didn't have internet access for the game so missed it. Are you saying that Pape played well?
