As I have said, Taylor gave the decision based on what he saw from his angle and Gallagher reflected my viewpoint.The referee doesn't have access to umpteen 'Slow-Mos'. IF VAR had been in operation the outcome might have been different based on the referee's opinion based on what he had seen on the monitor. Edited by Willo (20 Nov 2017 8.03pm)

Willo is such a tease. And possibly blessed with a massive scoop of feminine side &/or serving as a politician. Anyways, whatever he may or may not be, he never answers a direct question, however cornered he becomes; always skirting and deflecting. If he had big t!ts I might think that my missus was secretly moonlighting under the Willo moniker! Whatever, it shouldn't have been a pen and the to$$er should be on a charge for simulation. Fact, not opinion.

Only thing is that particular ref didn't just "err", he looked like the lost sheep in Isiah 51 : 6. Completely out of his depth. They've just done a whole spiel about VAR on TalkSh!te, in which a whole catalogue of ghastly decisions from last weekend was reeled off, including one that was even worse than the Niasse dive - an elbow in the face from Vincent Komany for Citeh against Leicester which was given a yellow card instead of a red in keeping with one of the Unwritten Laws of Football, the one that says "A player shall not be sent off for an offence committed in the first twenty minutes, no matter how horrible it may be".

You might say there is the 'Politician' in me and my goodness there are a few 'Jerry Paxman's' on here as well subjecting the politician to some interrogation.

Firstly, yes I have said referees err from time to time but anyone viewing HOL without seeing my comments would think that with the vitriol against me I risibly said that referees get it right 100% of the time. Secondly, I understand the arguments made about referees being reluctant to issue cards when the game is in it's infancy.On the other hand, if one of our players wasn't issued with a 'Red' for an offence deserving of one when the game was in it's infancy there would card no complaints on here ! Sometimes issuing a card is a 50/50 call and if referees get too card happy there are complaints that he was too card happy and ruined the game.!
