Were you there? No, so stop going on like you know exactly what happened. You come on here with your holier than thou attitude and wind people up. Get over yourself for once and realise that a lot of innocent fans were 1, treated badly by the police and 2, didn't get to see the match. No one has said that certain so called fans were right so do us all a favour and get off your high horse for once ffs.

Quite - Where else would the police get a pass and pat on the back for treating people who hadn't broken the law, and in fact had complied with every precaution, so badly.

What a minority did, doesn't justify how law abiding citizens were treated as if they were the trouble makers.

f**k the police.

I disagree with this. You had maybe about 50 people acting up, out of 2000, that doesn't justify the experiences that a lot of fans are reporting at the hands of the police and stewards.

The police have had something like 30 plus years of policing football games - and yet a bunch of teens get the better of them, get into the game, without tickets and with flares and fireworks. Meanwhile 150 or so Palace fans plus, with tickets are denied entry, treated like they're the trouble makers and get f**ked over.

Why, because you can get away with treating people like s**t if they're football fans, irrespective of whether they've done anything wrong. F**k Sussex Police they've let the force down here.

^^ spot,,,, boiiox ^^

I can forsee another post-match fabricated report identifying ticketless pished-up trouble-makers storming the gates, overwhelming police and stewards

Cos that's never happened before, and lessons have been learnt since then,...

Where is the evidence of such Police brutality and 'Heavy handed' tactics ?

Let's NOT deflect attention away from the errant hoodlums who decended on the town and the football ground.

I would politely suggest before wading in half way through and turning this into another thread with you at the centre of it you go back and read everything. I was there, in the middle of it, refused entry and subjected to all sorts of chaos. Happy now

I take it that some of those who were 'assaulted' by the police , have the offending officers numbers/id's so they can make an official complaint? that allied to the fact that most in this scenario will have had bodycams on a=for evidence purposes

Not entirely sure why you use the word assaulted in inverted commas. But... as I have already explained it was bedlam and in the chaos no I didn't get the officers name number or anything else. Stand still too long and I would have been knocked the floor, barged over or trodden on by a bloody horse

Police are merely the civvie version of match officials as far as Willo is concerned so you know what you can expect.

I was obviously not there but what's been reported comes to me as no surprise based on my experience of the UK's so-called law enforcement authorities.

Was going to post eldest sons experience last night , but reading through posts it pretty much matches the eloquent description given by Michaelawt85, officers being belligerent and trying to provoke people , looks like we’ve gone back 30 years

Do we have any footage or stories of people "storming the gates" as it's been mentioned? Whilst i'm not suggesting it didn't happen, if there aren't any first hand accounts of it happening, how do we know the whole debacle wasn't caused by a ticketing issue by BHA?

I saw zero trouble at all yesterday, aside from the bangers and smoke bombs being let off, but they happen most away games now. The only time I felt that tensions were starting to get heated was caused by the fact they kept the Palace fans behind for 45 minutes. Now we all knew we'd get kept behind (Although we were told we'd only be kept in for 25 minutes), but just before they let us leave, they opened up the shutters that had been preventing us from leaving. It was only when they opened the shutters that we realised the exit was blocked by a ring of riot police and were told to file out via a double door fire exit at the end of the concourse. Now, i'm no health and safety expert, but 1900 people, trying to exit via a double door isn't a very good idea, and caused crushes and tempers flared.

Poorly managed by the police and stewards.

Yes I have seen the footage of the other side of the barriers of stewards being pushed out the way and people storming in.
